Amicia's Gear
Amicia de Rune's effectiveness in A Plague Tale: Requiem is directly tied to the gear she carries and the upgrades she acquires. Her primary tools, the sling and her crossbow (later in the game), are essential for both stealth and combat. Maintaining and improving them is crucial.
The Sling:
- Ammunition Types: Amicia's sling can be loaded with various alchemical ammunition, each with unique effects. These include:
- Stones: Basic ammunition for distraction or direct impact.
- is: Creates a burst of fire, effective against rats and flammable objects.
- Lumin: Emits a bright light, repelling rats and temporarily blinding enemies.
- Fulminis: A more potent explosive projectile, capable of destroying weak structures and dealing significant damage.
- Somnum: A sleep-inducing projectile that can incapacitate enemies for a short duration.
- Upgrades: Throughout the game, Amicia can find Workbenches where she can upgrade her sling. These upgrades might increase the speed at which she reloads, the range of her shots, or the effectiveness of her alchemical ammunition.
The Crossbow:
- Acquisition: The crossbow is a significant addition to Amicia's arsenal, offering more powerful and precise ranged attacks. It is acquired later in the game.
- Ammunition: The crossbow uses bolts, which can be crafted using scavenged materials.
- Upgrades: Similar to the sling, the crossbow can be upgraded at workbenches to improve its damage, reload speed, and the types of bolts it can fire.
Other Gear:
- Pouches: Amicia's pouches allow her to carry a limited amount of crafted items and ammunition. Upgrades to her pouches can increase their capacity, allowing her to carry more resources.
- Armor: While not directly combat armor, certain pieces of clothing can offer subtle bonuses or be part of story progression.
Prioritize upgrading your primary weapons at workbenches whenever possible. The increased effectiveness of your sling and crossbow will make navigating the game's challenges significantly easier.
