Character Progression & Skills
A Plague Tale: Requiem introduces a robust character progression system that allows you to enhance Amicia's capabilities and unlock new ways to approach combat and stealth. This system is divided into three distinct skill trees: Alchemy, Utterance, and Tool.
Alchemy
The Alchemy skill tree focuses on improving Amicia's crafting abilities and the effectiveness of her alchemical concoctions. Upgrading these skills allows you to create more potent versions of existing items and unlock entirely new recipes.
- Improved Potions: Enhance the potency and duration of healing salves and other restorative items.
- Advanced Ammunition: Unlock the ability to craft specialized sling ammunition, such as incendiary or sleeping bolts, which are crucial for dealing with different enemy types and environmental hazards.
- Resource Efficiency: Reduce the amount of crafting materials required for certain alchemical items, allowing you to conserve precious resources.
Utterance
The Utterance skill tree is tied to Hugo's growing control over the Macula and his ability to influence the rat swarms. As Amicia learns to better harness Hugo's powers, these skills become available, offering powerful crowd-control and environmental manipulation options.
- Rat Swarm Control: Improve Hugo's ability to direct and command the rat swarms, allowing for more precise targeting and larger-scale destruction.
- Fear Inducement: Unlock abilities that allow Hugo to instill fear in enemies, causing them to flee or become disoriented, creating openings for Amicia.
- Environmental Interaction: Gain the ability to use the rat swarms to interact with the environment in new ways, such as iting flammable objects or clearing pathways.
Tool
The Tool skill tree focuses on Amicia's proficiency with her sling and other tools, enhancing her combat effectiveness and stealth capabilities.
- Rapid Reload: Decrease the time it takes to reload Amicia's sling, allowing for quicker follow-up shots.
- Silent Takedowns: Improve the speed and effectiveness of stealthy melee takedowns, making it safer to eliminate isolated guards.
