Enemy Types & Weaknesses

A Plague Tale: Requiem throws several dangerous foes at Amicia and Hugo, each requiring a different approach to overcome. Understanding their strengths and weaknesses is paramount to survival, especially when stealth fails.

  • Soldiers (Militia & Knights): These are your most common human enemies. They patrol in groups, have keen eyesight, and can quickly detect Amicia.
    • Weaknesses: They are vulnerable to direct attacks from Amicia's sling, especially headshots. However, engaging them directly is risky. Stealth takedowns are ideal. Knights, with their armor, require a more strategic approach; often, you'll need to use environmental hazards or specific alchemical concoctions to bypass or incapacitate them.
  • Rats: The ever-present, swarming threat. While not individual enemies in the traditional sense, their sheer numbers can overwhelm Amicia. They are repelled by light and fire.
    • Weaknesses: Hugo's powers are crucial here. He can direct swarms of rats to consume enemies or clear paths. Amicia can use her sling with is (fire) or Lumin (light) ammo to create safe zones or push back rat hordes.
  • Infected Soldiers: These unfortunate souls are afflicted by the Macula's curse and are even more aggressive and unpredictable than regular soldiers. They often move erratically and can be difficult to target.
    • Weaknesses: Similar to regular soldiers, but their erratic movements make headshots harder. They are susceptible to fire and can be lured by noise.
  • Guard Dogs: These can detect Amicia by scent, making them a significant threat to stealth. They are fast and can quickly close the distance.
    • Weaknesses: Dogs are easily distracted by thrown objects or specific alchemical items. They are also vulnerable to Amicia's sling, but a direct hit is necessary to neutralize them quickly.

Remember to always assess the situation before engaging. Observe patrol patterns, identify enemy types, and use the environment to your advantage. Sometimes, the best approach is to avoid confrontation altogether.
