Senses & Enemy Detection
Navigating the world of A Plague Tale: Requiem requires a keen awareness of your surroundings and the movements of your enemies. Amicia's "Senses" ability, along with careful observation, is crucial for successful stealth and survival.
- Activating Senses: Amicia can activate her senses by holding down a dedicated button. This highlights nearby enemies, interactive objects, and potential threats within a certain radius. The intensity of the highlight often indicates proximity.
- Enemy Visual Cues: Pay close attention to enemy patrol routes and their lines of sight. Guards will have distinct animations and behaviors. When an enemy is alerted, their posture and head movements will change, and they may call out to their comrades.
- Sound Cues: Sound plays a vital role in enemy detection. Guards will react to noises you make, such as footsteps, dropped items, or the sound of your sling. Conversely, you can use sound to your advantage by throwing rocks to distract them.
- Light and Shadow: Enemies are more likely to spot you in well-lit areas. Utilize shadows and cover to remain unseen. Moving slowly and staying low to the ground will further reduce your visibility.
- Alert States: Enemies have different alert states.
- Unaware: Enemies are patrolling normally, with no suspicion.
- Suspicious: Enemies have heard or seen something unusual and are investigating. They may call out or move towards the source of the disturbance.
- Alerted: Enemies are actively searching for you and will engage on sight.
- Combat: Enemies are engaged in direct combat with you or your allies.
- Minimap: While not always present, a minimap can sometimes provide a general overview of enemy positions and patrol routes. However, relying solely on the minimap can be dangerous, as it doesn't account for dynamic enemy behavior.
- Environmental Awareness: Always be aware of your surroundings. Look for choke points, hiding spots, and potential escape routes. Understanding the layout of an area is as important as knowing where the enemies are.
Mastering the use of Amicia's senses and developing a sharp eye for enemy behavior will significantly improve your ability to navigate stealth sections and avoid unnecessary confrontations. Patience and observation are your greatest allies.
