Skill Trees & Progression
Abiotic Factor features a deep and rewarding skill tree system that allows you to customize your character's abilities and tailor them to your preferred playstyle. Understanding how to effectively progress through these trees is essential for maximizing your survival potential.
Your character's progression is driven by experience points earned through various in-game activities, such as combat, crafting, exploration, and completing objectives. These experience points are used to unlock nodes within the various skill trees. Each skill tree focuses on a different aspect of gameplay, such as combat prowess, resourcefulness, technical expertise, or environmental resilience.
The skill trees are interconnected, meaning that unlocking certain skills might require you to have invested points in prerequisite skills within the same or a different tree. This encourages strategic planning and allows for diverse character builds. For example, you might need to unlock basic combat skills before you can access advanced weapon specialization skills. Similarly, crafting efficiency skills might be a prerequisite for unlocking advanced gadget blueprints.
When allocating skill points, consider your immediate needs and long-term goals. If you're struggling with combat, prioritize combat-focused skills. If you find yourself constantly short on resources, invest in scavenging and crafting skills. Some skills offer passive bonuses, such as increased health or faster resource gathering, while others provide active abilities that can be used in specific situations, like a temporary shield or a powerful area-of-effect attack. Regularly reviewing your available skills and planning your progression path will ensure you are always prepared for the challenges that Abiotic Factor throws at you.
