The final stretch of your journey takes you into the mysterious Abyss, where the game's narrative culminates in a powerful and emotional conclusion. This sequence shifts from exploration to a linear objective-based finale.
Navigating the Abyss
Upon entering the dark trenches, your primary objective is to follow the Great White Shark. Unlike previous encounters where the shark acted independently, it now serves as your guide through the hazardous industrial ruins. Stay close to the shark's trail; its presence neutralizes the electrical mines that previously blocked your path. If you stray too far, the mines will reactivate, forcing you to restart the segment.
The Final Transformation
Once you reach the core of the machine, a cinematic event will transform the diver. In this state, your mechanical objective is to physically collide with the pulsating triangular structures (the "harvesters"). Use your boost button to ram into these structures; you are now invulnerable to their electrical discharges. Destroying these machines is the only way to progress the sequence and stop the extraction process.
Restoring the Ecosystem
As you dismantle the harvesters, the final mechanic involves "Life Bursts." After a machine is destroyed, swim toward the gray, dormant areas of the seafloor. Press the interaction button to release a pulse of energy. This restores color to the environment and manually triggers the return of various marine species. You must repeat this process for each major platform until the central spire is reached. Once at the summit, perform one final interaction with the Great White Shark to trigger the ending cinematic and fully restore the ocean's vitality.
