The WarChiefs Campa Walkthrough: Act I - Blood
Welcome to the first act of The WarChiefs campaign, "Blood." This act introduces you to the Iroquois Confederacy and their struggle against the encroaching European powers. You will primarily play as the Iroquois, learning their unique units and playstyle.
The initial missions focus on establishing your village, gathering resources, and defending against early aggression. Key to success is understanding the Iroquois' reliance on their powerful native units and their unique economic bonuses. Unlike European civilizations, the Iroquois gain significant advantages from their villagers' ability to hunt and gather from forests more efficiently.
Pay close attention to the objectives in each mission. Often, you'll be tasked with defending a specific location, escorting a hero unit, or destroying enemy outposts. Early in Act I, you'll learn to utilize the Tomahawkman, a potent ranged unit that excels at harassing enemy villagers and breaking formations. The Warrior, a melee unit, is your workhorse for engaging enemy infantry and defending your settlements.
As you progress, you'll encounter more advanced enemy units. It's crucial to adapt your unit composition. For instance, if facing heavy cavalry, consider producing Jaguar Warriors, which have a bonus against cavalry. Always keep an eye on your resource income, particularly food and wood, as these are essential for training Iroquois units and researching crucial upgrades from your Home City.
The Home City plays a vital role in the Iroquois campaign. Sending shipments of resources, new units, or economic and military upgrades will significantly bolster your forces. Prioritize shipments that address your immediate needs, whether it's more villagers for economic growth or specific military units to counter an incoming threat. Mastering the timing of these shipments is a key skill that will serve you throughout the campaign.
