Scouting is not just for the early game; it's a continuous process that provides vital information about your opponent's strategy, resource locations, and army movements. Maintaining map control allows you to deny resources to your enemy, establish forward bases, and launch surprise attacks.

Scouting & Map Control
  • Early Game Scouting: Use your starting scout (Oracle Scout, Ulfsark, Scout Cavalry) to find all nearby resource nodes, relics, and your opponent's Town Center. This informs your initial build order.
  • Mid-Game Scouting: Use fast units (cavalry, flying Myth Units like Rocs or Caladria) to periodically check on your opponent's base, identify their army composition, and see if they are building a Wonder.
  • Watch Towers & Outposts: Build defensive structures like Watch Towers or Outposts at key choke points or near important resource locations to gain vision and early warning of enemy attacks.
  • Map Awareness: Constantly check your mini-map for enemy movements, new buildings, or resource depletion.

Good scouting allows you to react to your opponent's strategy rather than just blindly executing your own. Denying your opponent access to resources or surprising them with a well-timed attack can be game-changing.
