After the car crash, follow the path through the woods. You'll encounter your first Taken. Remember to focus your flashlight beam on them until their shadowy aura dissipates, then shoot them with your revolver. Continue through the forest, picking up any batteries and ammunition you find. You'll eventually reach a small cabin. Inside, you'll find a flashlight and a revolver, along with some crucial exposition.
As you exit the cabin, more Taken will appear. This is a good opportunity to practice your dodge mechanic. Try to isolate enemies and deal with them one at a time. Head towards the distant light, which will lead you to a safe haven. These safe zones are critical for replenishing health and often contain supply caches. Don't rush; take your time to explore the immediate area around safe zones for extra resources.
