Human survivors are armed and will shoot on sight. Direct confrontation is risky and often attracts the Alien. The best strategy is to avoid them entirely using stealth, vents, or distractions. If you must engage, a single headshot with the revolver or shotgun is usually enough to take them down. However, the sound of gunfire will almost certainly alert the Alien to your position. Consider using a noisemaker to lure the Alien to their location, letting it deal with them for you, but be prepared to hide immediately afterward.
