Mission 6: Seegson Communications

Welcome to Mission 6, "Seegson Communications." This mission will test your stealth and resourcefulness as you navigate through hostile environments and encounter both human and synthetic threats. Prepare for tight corridors, unexpected encounters, and crucial data retrieval. Your objective is to reach the Communications Tower, upload vital data, and finally establish contact with the outside world. Expect a significant increase in Working Joe presence and a few surprises.

Objective: Reach the Communications Tower

Your primary goal is to reach the Communications Tower to attempt to contact the outside world. The path will not be easy, so proceed with caution. This initial phase focuses on navigating the ground floor of the Seegson Communications facility.

Navigating the Initial Area: Seegson Communications Lobby & Offices

  1. Upon entering Seegson Communications from the Transit Station, you'll find yourself in a dimly lit lobby. Immediately head to the right and locate the access panel on the wall near a locked door. Interact with it to override the door lock.
  2. Proceed through the now unlocked door. You'll enter a small office area. Check the desks and shelves thoroughly for any valuable crafting materials like Scrap (often found in drawers or on desks), Components (on shelves or in open lockers), and potentially a Flare or two.
  3. Continue through the next door, which leads to a larger open office area with several cubicles. Be wary of patrolling Working Joes. There is typically at least one patrolling this area. Use cover effectively (cubicle walls, desks) and utilize your Motion Tracker to anticipate their movements. If you need to pass a Joe, consider using a Noise Maker to draw it away, or a well-placed Stun Baton if you can isolate it for a silent, temporary takedown.
  4. Your goal is to reach the door marked "Communications Hub" at the far end of this larger office area. It will be locked and require power.

Accessing the Main Communications Hub: Power Rerouting

To reach the Communications Hub, you'll need to bypass a locked door and potentially deal with more hostile synthetics. This involves finding a power conduit and rerouting energy.

  1. Locate the locked door leading to the "Communications Hub" section. It will be clearly marked. You'll notice it's unpowered.
  2. From the locked Communications Hub door, turn around and look for an adjacent office or a small side corridor. You're looking for a room containing a terminal. This room is often labeled "Server Room" or "Maintenance Access."
  3. Inside this room, you will find a large wall-mounted terminal. Interact with the terminal to begin the power rerouting mini-game. This usually involves matching symbols or completing a simple circuit. Successfully complete the mini-game to restore power to the Communications Hub door.
  4. Once power is restored, head back to the Communications Hub door and open it.
  5. Stealth Alert: The Communications Hub itself is a critical area and is often patrolled by at least two Working Joes. One might be stationary, while another patrols. Consider crafting a Noise Maker or Flare to distract them, or use a Stun Baton for a silent takedown if you can isolate one. Remember, Joes are resilient; a single Stun Baton hit only temporarily disables them. A headshot with a Revolver or Shotgun is effective but loud.
  6. Before proceeding too far, look for a Blueprint: Smoke Bomb V.2. This is often found in a small, locked office or storage room accessible from within the Communications Hub area, sometimes requiring a terminal hack or a keycard found nearby. This upgrade is highly recommended for its utility in escaping difficult situations or obscuring enemy vision.

Objective: Upload Data to the Communications Array

Inside the Communications Hub, your next task is to upload crucial data to the array. This will require interacting with a main console and surviving the inevitable counter-attack.

The Upload Process: Surviving the Onslaught

  1. Locate the central console in the Communications Hub. It's usually a large, prominent workstation in the middle or at one end of the room. Interact with it to begin the data upload.
  2. Warning: The upload process is not instantaneous and will likely trigger an alarm or attract unwanted attention from multiple Working Joes. Prepare for an intense encounter. The upload process takes approximately 60-90 seconds.
  3. During the upload, expect Working Joes to converge on your position from various entry points (doors, vents). You will likely face 3-4 Joes in waves. Utilize the environment to your advantage:
    • Cover: Hide under desks or in lockers if you need to break line of sight and reset enemy patrols.
    • Vents: Use vents to reposition yourself, flank enemies, or escape if overwhelmed. There are usually several vent access points in the Communications Hub.
    • Distractions: If you have a Molotov or Pipe Bomb, this can be an extremely effective way to clear multiple Joes, especially if they group up. Be mindful of the noise this creates, as it can attract the Alien if it's in the vicinity (though less likely during this specific Working Joe encounter). A Flashbang can also stun them, allowing you to run past or get a few hits in.
    • Melee: If you're cornered, a well-timed swing with the Maintenance Jack can knock a Joe down, giving you a brief window to escape or follow up.
    • Flamethrower (if acquired): A quick burst of flame can temporarily disable Joes and make them retreat, buying you precious seconds. Save your fuel for the Alien, but don't hesitate if survival is at stake.
  4. Keep an eye on the upload progress bar on the console. You do not need to stay at the console for the entire duration, but you must survive until it completes.
  5. Once the upload is complete, the immediate threat might subside, but remain vigilant. The Joes may still be patrolling, and the facility is never truly safe.

Objective: Proceed to the Upper Levels

With the data uploaded, you need to find a way to the upper levels of the Communications Tower to complete your objective. This involves locating and utilizing an elevator.

Finding and Activating the Elevator

  1. After the upload, look for an elevator access panel within the Communications Hub. It's usually located in a side corridor or a less obvious corner, often near a "Staff Only" or "Upper Levels" sign. Consult your map if you're having trouble locating it; it will be marked as an elevator icon.
  2. Approach the elevator panel and interact with it to call the elevator. This might again draw attention from any remaining Working Joes or even the Alien if it has been drawn into the area by the commotion. Be ready to hide or defend yourself.
  3. Once the elevator arrives and the doors open, quickly enter. Inside, interact with the control panel to ascend to the next section of the tower. This marks the end of the first major segment of Mission 6.

Loot and Resources Checklist for Seegson Communications (Ground Floor)

Throughout Seegson Communications, keep an eye out for these valuable items. Scavenging is crucial for survival.

  • Medkits: Often found in medical cabinets (red cross symbol) or on shelves in offices and staff rooms. Always prioritize picking these up.
  • Flamethrower Fuel: Crucial for later encounters with the Alien. Look in maintenance areas, storage rooms, or near machinery.
  • Crafting Components: Always scavenge for Scrap (most common), Binding Agent (found in medical or chemical storage), and Gel (often in labs or storage units) to craft useful tools like Medkits, Flares, Noise Makers, and Pipe Bombs.
  • Audio Logs: Discovering these provides valuable lore and context to the events on Sevastopol. Listen for the distinctive chime when you are near one. Check desks, control panels, and personal lockers.
  • Blueprint: Smoke Bomb V.2: As mentioned, this upgrade is often found in a locked office or a secure storage room within the Communications Hub area. It significantly improves the Smoke Bomb's effectiveness.
  • Revolver Ammunition: Found in small boxes, usually on desks or shelves. Keep your Revolver loaded for emergencies against Joes or for environmental interactions.
  • Shotgun Ammunition: Less common than Revolver ammo, but can be found in more secure storage areas or near weapon lockers.
  • EMP Mine: Occasionally found. Highly effective against Working Joes, disabling them for a longer period than a Stun Baton.

Remember, patience and stealth are your best allies in Alien: Isolation. Conserve your resources, use your Motion Tracker constantly, and avoid direct confrontation whenever possible. Good luck, Amanda.
