Later in the game, you will encounter sections, often in the sewers or flooded areas, that function as 'gauntlets' – extended sequences where you must navigate multiple Manpigs in a more confined or complex environment. These areas are designed to test your stealth skills and nerve.

Phase 1: Multiple Threats and Environmental Hazards
Unlike earlier encounters, these areas often feature two or more Manpigs patrolling simultaneously, sometimes with overlapping routes. The environment itself can be a hazard: flooded floors can make splashing noises, narrow corridors offer less cover, and machinery can create ambient noise that masks or amplifies your own sounds. Pay close attention to the soundscape to track all nearby threats.
Phase 2: Strategic Movement and Distraction
Crouching and slow movement are paramount. Plan your route carefully, identifying potential hiding spots and escape routes before you move. In some instances, you might be able to use environmental objects to create distractions. For example, knocking over a stack of barrels or activating a noisy lever in one direction can draw a Manpig away from your intended path, giving you a window to pass. However, this is a risky maneuver and should only be attempted when you have a clear escape plan.
Phase 3: Maintaining Composure Under Pressure
These gauntlet sections are designed to be stressful. If a Manpig detects you, do not panic. Sprint to the nearest safe hiding spot. Remember that they are blind; if you can break line of sight and remain still, they will eventually lose interest. The key is to not get cornered. Always be aware of your surroundings and have an exit strategy. The goal is to reach the next safe zone or objective without being caught. These sections often culminate in a puzzle or a door that, once opened, provides a temporary respite from the immediate threat.
