Throughout Mandus's mansion and the industrial complex, you will find numerous notes, letters, journal entries, and scientific documents. These are the primary means by which the game delivers its intricate and disturbing narrative. Collecting and reading these documents is highly recommended, as they flesh out the backstory of Mandus, his family, his business, and the horrifying purpose of the Machine.

Where to Find Them: Notes are often placed on desks, tables, shelves, or pinned to walls. They are usually highlighted with a subtle glow or a distinct visual cue when you are close enough to interact. Some are in plain sight, while others require a bit of exploration into less obvious corners of a room. Always take a moment to thoroughly search any new area you enter.
Why Collect Them: Each document adds a piece to the larger puzzle, revealing Mandus's descent into madness, the philosophical underpinnings of his creation, and the tragic fate of those involved. They provide context for the grotesque imagery and unsettling sounds you encounter. Without reading these, much of the game's profound horror and thematic depth will be lost. All collected notes can be reviewed at any time in your journal (Tab).
