Escape From The Cell

This early puzzle can be a bit tricky, especially if you're still getting accustomed to Daniel's abilities. There are a couple of ways to approach this, depending on your preferred method of interaction.

Method 1: The Direct Approach

1. Locate the Loose Brick: Immediately upon regaining control in the cell, look at the wall directly opposite the cell door. There should be a noticeably loose brick near the bottom.
2. Interact with the Brick: Click and hold on the loose brick. You'll need to pull it out. This may take a few attempts to get the right angle and force.
3. Retrieve the Key: Once the brick is removed, a small cavity will be revealed. Inside, you will find the Cell Key.
4. Unlock the Door: Approach the cell door and use the Cell Key on the lock. Daniel will automatically unlock it.
5. Proceed: The cell door is now open, allowing you to continue your journey into the castle.

Method 2: The Environmental Interaction

This method uses a bit more environmental manipulation, which is a core mechanic of Amnesia.

1. Find the Rock: Scan the floor of your cell. There should be a small, loose Rock lying around. Pick it up.
2. Locate the Loose Brick: As in Method 1, identify the loose brick on the wall opposite the cell door.
3. Use the Rock: With the Rock in your inventory, approach the loose brick. You can now use the Rock to pry the brick out more easily. Click and hold the rock, then drag it towards the brick, using a pulling motion.
4. Retrieve the Key: Once the brick is dislodged, the Cell Key will be accessible within the hidden cavity.
5. Unlock the Door: Use the Cell Key on the cell door to open it and escape.

Secret Door in the Local History Room

Uncovering hidden passages is a common theme in Brennenburg. This particular secret door requires a keen eye and some interaction with the environment.

1. Enter the Local History Room: Navigate to the Local History Room. This room is typically filled with various historical artifacts and documents.
2. Locate the Painting: Search the walls for a large, prominent painting. It often depicts a historical figure or a significant event related to the castle.
3. Interact with the Painting: Approach the painting and click on it. You should be able to interact with it, possibly by moving or tilting it. Daniel will reveal a hidden mechanism behind it.

Exiting The Archives

1. Locate the Specific Book: Within the Archives, there will be a particular bookshelf that holds a key to your escape. You are looking for a book that stands out or is slightly out of place. This often involves a book with a unique color, size, or position compared to its neighbors.
2. Interact with the Book: Click and drag the identified book. Daniel will interact with it, and it will likely trigger a hidden mechanism.
3. Reveal the Hidden Passage: Pulling the correct book will cause a section of the bookshelf or a nearby wall to retract or slide open, revealing a hidden passage or a new area.
4. Advance: Step through the newly opened passage to exit the Archives and continue your journey.
