The Vault sabotage on The Skeld is a powerful tool for Impostors, desed to isolate crewmates and create opportunities for kills. By locking down a critical area, you can control movement, sow confusion, and potentially trap unsuspecting victims. Understanding the mechanics and strategic implications of this sabotage is key to its effective use.

When the Vault is sabotaged, the doors to the Vault room become locked, preventing anyone from entering or exiting. This can be particularly effective if crewmates are known to frequent this area, or if you want to prevent them from reaching other parts of the ship. The goal is to create a controlled environment where you can pick off isolated targets or force crewmates into disadvantageous positions. The Vault is located in the lower section of The Skeld, often near Navigation and Shields.

Strategic Uses of the Vault Sabotage:

Isolation and Trapping: If you see a crewmate heading towards the Vault, or if they are already inside, sabotaging the Vault can trap them. This is especially effective if you are the only one who can enter or exit, allowing for a quick kill.
Preventing Task Completion: The Vault contains tasks. Locking it down prevents crewmates from completing these, adding to the overall pressure and task bar progression delay.

Countering the Vault Sabotage (as Crewmate):
