Vitals Monitoring
The Vitals feature, available on maps like Polus and The Airship, provides Crewmates with a critical overview of who is alive and who has been eliminated. Monitoring Vitals can be a game-changer, offering real-time information that can help identify Impostors and prevent further kills.
Located in the Security room (Polus) or a dedicated station (The Airship), Vitals displays a list of all players and their current status: Alive or Dead. This simple yet powerful tool allows Crewmates to stay informed about the game's progression and react swiftly to eliminations, even if they are not physically present at the scene of a kill.
Understanding the Vitals Interface
The Vitals screen typically shows:
- Player List: A list of all players currently in the game.
- Status Indicators: Each player has a status indicator, usually showing 'Alive' or 'Dead'.
- Color Coding: Player names are often color-coded to match their character's color.
Crewmate Strategies for Vitals Monitoring
- Detecting Kills Immediately: The moment a player's status changes from 'Alive' to 'Dead', you know a kill has occurred. This allows for immediate reporting and investigation.
- Pinpointing Kill Times: By observing the exact moment a player dies, you can narrow down the timeframe and location of the kill, helping to identify potential suspects.
- Identifying Suspicious Behavior: If a player dies shortly after being seen with another player, it raises suspicion about that companion.
- Confirming Suspicions: If you suspect someone is the Impostor and their status suddenly changes to 'Dead', it might mean they were killed by their Impostor partner, or they were caught and eliminated by Crewmates.
- Preventing Impostor Wins: If you notice a player die and you are close to the Admin or Security room, you can quickly check the Admin map to see who was near the deceased player's last known location.
- Coordinating with Others: If you see a death, immediately call a meeting or alert trusted Crewmates to discuss who might be responsible.
Impostor Counter-Strategies
Impostors must be aware of the Vitals feature:
- Kill Strategically: Avoid killing players who are known to be actively monitoring Vitals, especially if you are alone with them.
- Use Sabotages to Distract: Sabotages can draw players away from the Vitals station, giving you a window to make a kill without immediate detection.
- Kill Simultaneously: If there are two Impostors, coordinating kills can sometimes overwhelm Crewmates trying to track Vitals.
- Fake Tasks Near Vitals: If you are in the vicinity of Vitals, pretend to do a task to appear innocent.
- Be Mindful of Timing: If you kill someone, be aware that their status will change immediately. Try to be in a different location or with other Crewmates when the death is discovered.
Tips for Effective Vitals Monitoring
- Don't Obsess: While Vitals are important, don't spend the entire game staring at the screen. Continue doing your tasks.
- Communicate Findings: If you see a death, report it immediately. Provide as much detail as possible about who died and when.
- Cross-Reference: Combine Vitals information with Admin Map data and camera feeds for a more complete picture.
By diligently monitoring Vitals, Crewmates can gain a sificant advantage in identifying Impostors and ensuring the survival of the crew.
