Reactor & O2 Sabotage Response

The Reactor Meltdown and O2 Depletion sabotages are the most critical threats in Among Us, posing an immediate win condition for Impostors if not resolved in time. Crewmates must react swiftly and efficiently to prevent the ship from being destroyed or its atmosphere from running out.

These two sabotages are desed to force Crewmates into specific locations and create kill opportunities. Successfully responding requires coordination, quick thinking, and a clear understanding of the repair process. Failure to address them within the time limit results in an Impostor victory.

Reactor Meltdown

When Reactor is sabotaged, two consoles will begin flashing, and a countdown timer will start. Crewmates must reach both consoles and interact with them simultaneously to stop the meltdown.

Crewmate Response Strategy:
  • Identify the Locations: The flashing consoles are typically located in Reactor and Electrical (on The Skeld), or Reactor and Comms (on Mira HQ), or Reactor and Laboratory (on Polus).
  • Form Pairs: The most effective strategy is to form pairs of Crewmates to go to each flashing console. This ensures that if one player is killed, the other can still complete the task.
  • Communicate Your Partner: Announce who you are going with. For example, "I'm going to Reactor with Blue."
  • Be Wary of Isolation: Impostors will often try to intercept pairs or kill one of the players heading to a console. Stick with your partner.
  • If Alone: If you are alone and heading to a console, be extremely cautious. If you see someone else heading to the same console, try to stick with them.
  • If You See a Kill: If you witness a kill on the way to a console, report it immediately if possible, or try to reach the console with another Crewmate.

O2 Depletion

When O2 is sabotaged, two consoles will begin flashing, and a countdown timer will start. Crewmates must reach both consoles and interact with them simultaneously to restore the oxygen supply.

Crewmate Response Strategy:
  • Identify the Locations: The flashing consoles are typically located in O2 and Admin (on The Skeld), or O2 and Security (on Mira HQ), or O2 and Laboratory (on Polus).
  • Form Pairs: Similar to Reactor, form pairs to go to each flashing console.
  • Communicate Your Partner: Announce your partner. For example, "I'm going to O2 with Green."
  • Be Wary of Isolation: Impostors will try to pick off Crewmates heading to O2. Stay with your partner.
  • If Alone: Exercise extreme caution. Look for other Crewmates to team up with.
  • If You See a Kill: Report it if you can, or try to reach the console with another Crewmate.

General Sabotage Response Tips

  • Don't ore Sabotages: These are win conditions for Impostors. Always prioritize responding to them.
  • Use the Admin Map: Before heading to a sabotage, quickly check the Admin Map to see player locations and avoid areas with suspicious activity.
  • Communicate Clearly: During meetings, discuss who went where and who they were with. This helps identify if anyone was sabotaged or if an Impostor is trying to mislead.
  • Impostor Tactics: Impostors will often try to kill Crewmates on the way to fix sabotages, or they might pretend to help fix them while looking for an opportunity.

Mastering the response to Reactor and O2 sabotages is a fundamental skill for any Crewmate aiming to win the game. Swift, coordinated action is the key to survival.
