For Crewmates in Among Us, completing tasks is not just a way to win; it's a fundamental part of the game's strategy. Efficiently finishing your assed tasks puts pressure on the Impostors and contributes directly to the Crewmates' victory. Understanding the types of tasks and how to approach them is crucial.

Tasks in Among Us are mini-games that players must complete around the map. They are divided into three categories: Short Tasks, Long Tasks, and Common Tasks. Each player is assed a set of tasks at the beginning of the game. The collective progress of all Crewmates' tasks is displayed on a taskbar at the top of the screen. When this bar is full, the Crewmates win.

Types of Tasks:

  • Short Tasks: These are quick, usually single-step mini-games that take only a few seconds to complete. Examples include:
    • Swipe Card (Admin): Swipe your ID card through the reader.
    • Fuel Engines (Storage/Engines): Drag the fuel gauge to the green zone.
    • Empty Garbage (Storage): Press the button to empty the garbage chute.
    • Divert Power (Electrical): Drag the power slider to the correct position.
  • Long Tasks: These tasks typically involve multiple steps or take a longer duration to complete. Examples include:
    • Fix Wiring (Various Locations): Connect colored wires in the correct order.
    • Download Data (Communications/Admin): Wait for the download to complete, then upload data at another location.
    • Calibrate Distributors (Electrical): Rotate the dial to match the spinning pattern.
    • Stabilize Steering (Navigation): Keep the steering wheel centered.
    • Chart Course (Navigation): Drag the ship icon to the correct destination.
  • Common Tasks: These are tasks that all Crewmates might have, and they are usually short. If one player has a common task, everyone else will have it too. Examples include:
    • Swipe Card (Admin): As mentioned above, this is often a common task.
    • Fix Wiring (Various Locations): Can also be a common task.

Visual Tasks:

Some tasks are desated as 'Visual Tasks'. When a player performs a visual task, there is a distinct animation that other You can see. These are the most powerful way for a Crewmate to prove their innocence. Examples include:

  • MedBay Scan: You lies on the scanner, and a green light appears.
  • Clear Asteroids (Weapons): You shoots asteroids, and they explode.
  • Fuel Engines (Storage/Engines): The engine exhaust visibly ites.
  • Empty Garbage (Storage): The garbage chute opens and closes.

Tips for Task Completion:

  • Know Your Tasks: Familiarize yourself with all the tasks on the map you are playing.
  • Be Efficient: Try to complete your tasks as quickly as possible, but don't sacrifice safety.
  • Group Up (Sometimes): Doing tasks in groups can offer protection, especially for longer tasks. However, be aware that this can also make you a target for stack kills or Impostors who are good at faking tasks within a group.
  • Watch the Taskbar: Keep an eye on the taskbar. If it fills up, you win! If it doesn't move for a long time, it might indicate Impostors are faking tasks or sabotaging effectively.
  • Don't Just Stand There: If you're waiting for a download or a cooldown, move to another task or observe your surroundings. Impostors often look for players who are idle.
