Map-Specific Sabotages
Each map in Among Us presents unique challenges and opportunities, and this extends to the sabotages available to Impostors. Understanding the specific mechanics and locations of sabotages on maps like The Skeld, Mira HQ, Polus, and The Airship is crucial for Impostors aiming to create chaos and for Crewmates trying to counter them.
Sabotages are Impostor abilities desed to disrupt Crewmate progress, create opportunities for kills, or even win the game outright if not fixed in time. While some sabotages are universal (like lights and communications), others are map-specific and require a deeper understanding of the environment. Knowing where to go to fix a sabotage, and the risks involved, is vital for Crewmate survival.
Here's a breakdown of map-specific sabotages:
The Skeld
- Reactor Meltdown: Two Crewmates must interact with consoles in different locations (Electrical and Reactor) simultaneously to fix it. Failure to do so results in an Impostor win. This forces Crewmates to split up and move to dangerous areas.
- O2 Depletion: Similar to Reactor, two Crewmates must interact with consoles in different locations (Admin and Navigation) to fix it. Failure results in an Impostor win.
- Lights: Reduces Crewmate vision sificantly. Can be fixed at Electrical. This is a prime opportunity for Impostors to get kills.
- Communications: Disables task bars, security cameras, admin map, and vitals. Can be fixed at Communications. This hinders Crewmate information gathering.
Mira HQ
- Reactor Meltdown: Requires two Crewmates to fix at the Reactor and Launchpad consoles.
- O2 Depletion: Requires two Crewmates to fix at the O2 and Security consoles.
- Lights: Fixable at Electrical.
- Communications: Fixable at Communications.
- Door Sabotage: Impostors can temporarily lock doors in specific areas, trapping Crewmates or blocking their escape. This is unique to Mira HQ and can be used to isolate targets or prevent them from reaching sabotages.
Polus
- Seismic Stabilizers: Two Crewmates must interact with consoles at the Seismic Stabilizers and the Laboratory to fix it. Failure results in an Impostor win.
- O2 Depletion: Requires two Crewmates to fix at the O2 and Laboratory consoles.
- Lights: Fixable at Electrical.
- Communications: Fixable at Communications.
- Specimen Room Door: Impostors can lock the door to the Specimen Room, trapping anyone inside or preventing access.
The Airship
- Infinite Cafeteria Door Lock: Impostors can lock the large door in the Cafeteria, trapping Crewmates.
- Electrical Sabotage: Similar to other maps, but on a larger scale, affecting multiple areas.
- Engine Sabotage: Requires Crewmates to fix engines in different locations.
- Vault Sabotage: Impostors can lock the vault, preventing Crewmates from accessing it.
- Comms Sabotage: Affects the entire ship.
Strategies for Impostors:
- Use map-specific sabotages to isolate targets. Locking doors on Mira HQ or Polus can trap a victim with an Impostor.
- Force Crewmates to split up for critical sabotages like Reactor or O2. This creates opportunities for kills in transit or at the sabotage locations.
- Use Lights or Comms sabotage to mask your movements or prevent Crewmates from coordinating their fixes.
Strategies for Crewmates:
- Memorize the locations of sabotage fix points for each map.
- When a critical sabotage occurs (Reactor/O2/Seismic), try to go with a buddy to the fix locations to increase safety.
- Be aware of areas where doors can be locked, and avoid getting trapped alone.
- Report suspicious activity around sabotage locations immediately.
Understanding these map-specific nuances is key to mastering Among Us. It allows Impostors to employ more devious tactics and empowers Crewmates to respond effectively, ensuring a more strategic and engaging game for everyone.
