There are two main currencies in Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Bells and Nook Miles.
- Bells: The primary currency for purchasing items, furniture, clothing, and paying off house loans. You earn Bells by selling items (fish, bugs, fruit, crafted goods), shaking money trees, and finding money rocks.
- Nook Miles: A secondary currency earned by completing various in-game achievements, such as catching a certain number of fish, crafting items, or talking to villagers. Nook Miles are used to purchase Nook Miles Tickets (for mystery island tours), special items from the Nook Stop, and to pay off your initial tent loan.
Both currencies are vital for progression. Prioritize earning Nook Miles early on to unlock essential upgrades and travel options.
