Installation & First Steps

Installing Animal Crossing: New Horizons is straightforward. Simply purchase the game digitally from the Nintendo eShop or insert the physical game card into your Nintendo Switch. Once installed, launch the game. You'll be greeted by Tom Nook and the Nook Inc. team, who will guide you through the initial setup. You'll choose your island's hemisphere (Northern or Southern, affecting seasons), your island layout from a selection of four, and your starting fruit. These choices are permanent, so consider them carefully! Your starting fruit will be the native fruit of your island, which sells for 100 Bells at Nook's Cranny, while non-native fruits sell for 500 Bells.
