Gathering Tools

These are your primary instruments for collecting resources from various locations. While some are always available, others are consumable or event-specific.

• Fishing Rod:
  • Description: Your basic tool for catching fish in water bodies.
  • How to Obtain: Always available from the start of the game.
  • Uses: Cast into fishing spots at Saltwater Shores and Lost Lure Creek to catch fish for animal requests, crafting, or selling.
  • Variations:
    • Golden Rod: A special, temporary rod often available during Fishing Tourneys. It allows you to catch two fish at once from a single cast, significantly speeding up progress. Can sometimes be purchased with Leaf Tickets or obtained as a high-tier event reward.
• Bug Net:
  • Description: Your basic tool for catching insects on trees and flowers.
  • How to Obtain: Always available from the start of the game.
  • Uses: Tap on trees at Sunburst Island or flowers in your garden to catch bugs for animal requests, crafting, or selling.
  • Variations:
    • Golden Net: Similar to the Golden Rod, this temporary net is often available during Bug-Off events. It increases your chances of catching rarer bugs or multiple bugs at once. Can sometimes be purchased with Leaf Tickets or obtained as a high-tier event reward.
• Shovel:
  • Description: Used for digging up various items, most notably in Shovelstrike Quarry.
  • How to Obtain: Always available.
  • Uses: Primarily used in the Shovelstrike Quarry to unearth minerals and Bells. Also used in some special events to dig for rewards.
• Pickaxe:
  • Description: A tool specifically for breaking rocks in Shovelstrike Quarry.
  • How to Obtain: Always available when entering Shovelstrike Quarry.
  • Uses: Tap on the glowing rocks within Shovelstrike Quarry to break them and reveal minerals (such as Steel, Cotton, Wood, Paper, Preserves) or Bells. Each entry to the quarry grants a limited number of swings.

Consumable Tools & Boosters

These items are used up after a certain number of uses or after a specific effect wears off. They provide significant advantages for gathering.

• Honey:
  • Description: A sweet lure that attracts many bugs to a single tree.
  • How to Obtain: Craftable at the Crafting menu, purchasable with Bells from the Market Place, or obtained as event rewards.
  • Uses: Apply to any tree at Sunburst Island. After a short period, numerous bugs (including some rarer ones) will appear on that tree, ready to be caught with your bug net.
• Throw Net:
  • Description: A net designed to catch multiple fish at once from a single fishing spot.
  • How to Obtain: Craftable at the Crafting menu, purchasable with Bells from the Market Place, or obtained as event rewards.
  • Uses: Use at any fishing spot (Saltwater Shores or Lost Lure Creek). Instead of individual casts, the throw net will automatically catch a random assortment of fish from that spot.
  • Variations:
    • Large Throw Net: Catches even more fish than a regular Throw Net, often including rarer species.
• Fertilizer:
  • Description: A gardening aid that significantly speeds up the growth of flowers.
  • How to Obtain: Purchasable with Bells from the Market Place, obtained as event rewards, or sometimes found in balloons.
  • Uses: Apply to any planted flower in your garden. The flower will instantly grow to its next stage or fully bloom, allowing for quicker harvesting of flower seeds or cross-pollination. Essential for Garden Events.
• Flower Food:
  • Description: A special food for flowers, primarily used during Garden Events to attract rare creatures.
  • How to Obtain: Exclusively obtained during Garden Events as rewards or sometimes purchased with Leaf Tickets during the event.
  • Uses: Apply to fully bloomed event flowers in your garden to attract event-specific creatures. These creatures are then caught to complete event goals.

Special Materials & Currencies

These items are crucial for crafting, reissuing past event items, and general progression.

• Sparkle Stones:
  • Description: A rare and shiny material used for crafting special furniture and amenities.
  • How to Obtain: Primarily obtained by fulfilling special requests from animals (those with a "Sparkle Stone" icon), completing Stretch Goals, or as rewards from certain events.
  • Uses: Essential for crafting the most unique and visually appealing furniture items and amenities. Keep a steady supply, as they are often required in significant quantities for high-level crafts.
• Reissue Material:
  • Description: A special material used to craft items from past events that are no longer available.
  • How to Obtain: Primarily obtained through seasonal events (e.g., Garden Events, Fishing Tourneys, Scavenger Hunts) as rewards, completing specific Stretch Goals, or sometimes found in special gift items.
  • Uses: Visit the "Craft" menu and select the "Reissue" tab. Here, you can spend Reissue Material (and Bells) to craft furniture, clothing, and amenities that were previously available during limited-time events.
• Bells:
  • Description: The primary in-game currency used for almost all transactions.
  • How to Obtain: Earned by fulfilling animal requests, selling items, completing Stretch Goals, participating in events, and digging in Shovelstrike Quarry.
  • Uses: Used to craft furniture and amenities, purchase items from the Market Place, pay for Reissue crafting, and expand your inventory.
• Leaf Tickets:
  • Description: A premium currency that can be used to speed up crafting, purchase special items, or acquire Fortune Cookies.
  • How to Obtain: Can be purchased with real money, earned by completing specific Stretch Goals, leveling up, or as rewards from certain events.
  • Uses: Speed up crafting times, buy special furniture and clothing from the "Leaf Ticket" section of the Craft menu, purchase Fortune Cookies, buy special event tools (like Golden Rod/Net), or refill your Shovelstrike Quarry attempts.

Social & Utility Items

These items facilitate interactions with other players and provide unique benefits.

• Market Box:
  • Description: Your personal shop where you can sell excess items to friends and other players.
  • How to Obtain: Available from the beginning of the game.
  • Uses: Tap on your Market Box at your campsite or any recreation spot to list items for sale. You set the price within a specified range. This is an excellent way to earn Bells and help out your friends by selling items they might need.
• Gifts:
  • Description: Special, wrapped items that can be sent to friends, containing random rewards.
  • How to Obtain: Primarily obtained as rewards from seasonal events (e.g., Garden Events, Fishing Tourneys, Scavenger Hunts), sometimes from balloons, or purchased with Leaf Tickets during specific campaigns.
  • Uses: Go to your friends list, select a friend, and choose "Send Gift." Gifts contain a random assortment of materials (e.g., Steel, Cotton, Wood, Paper, Preserves), Bells, or even Fortune Cookies. There are various types of gifts (e.g., "Gift," "Gift+," "Sparkle Gift"), with "+" and "Sparkle" versions offering higher chances for rarer rewards. You can only send one gift to a friend per day, and they can only receive one gift from you per day.
• Calling Cards:
  • Description: Allows you to invite a specific animal to a recreation spot even if they are not currently visiting.
  • How to Obtain: Primarily obtained by leveling up your friendship with animals, completing Stretch Goals, or as event rewards.
  • Uses: Go to a recreation spot, open the map, and select an animal not currently present. If you have a Calling Card, you can use it to instantly summon them to that location, allowing you to fulfill their requests and raise your friendship level.
• Request Tickets:
  • Description: Allows you to fulfill an animal's request even if they don't have one available.
  • How to Obtain: Primarily obtained by leveling up your friendship with animals, completing Stretch Goals, or as event rewards.
  • Uses: When talking to an animal, if they have no current requests, you can use a Request Ticket to generate a new set of requests for them. This is useful for quickly raising friendship levels or gathering specific materials.
• Fortune Cookies:
  • Description: Special cookies that contain random, exclusive furniture and clothing items from themed collections.
  • How to Obtain: Purchasable with Leaf Tickets at the Fortune Cookie Shop, sometimes given as rewards from Gifts, or rarely obtained through daily login bonuses or special events.
  • Uses: Each cookie guarantees one item from its specific collection. Some cookies are permanent, while others are limited-time offers. Collecting all items from a cookie series often grants a special bonus item.
