·Multi-source verified (59/59)

Your journey begins with selecting an appropriate island for your first settlement. Look for an island with a good balance of fertility for essential crops like Wheat and Hemp, and access to Iron Ore and Stone deposits. These resources are fundamental for early game development. Once you've chosen your island, deploy your flagship and select the 'Build Warehouse' option from the construction menu. Place your Warehouse strategically near the coast to facilitate trade and resource collection. This will be the heart of your initial settlement. Immediately after, construct a few Fisherman's Huts and a Woodcutter's Lodge to secure your basic food and building material supply. Remember to connect these buildings to your Warehouse with roads to ensure efficient transport of goods. Prioritize building enough housing for your first citizens, the Peasants, to kickstart your population growth and tax income.
