Training New Recruits

Train new recruits in ARC Raiders. Learn to rescue, integrate, and specialize survivors into defenders, crafters, and more to strengthen your base.

As you progress in ARC Raiders, you'll encounter stranded survivors who can become valuable assets to your growing community. Training these new recruits is essential for expanding your capabilities, from bolstering your base defenses to unlocking new research and crafting opportunities. This section details the process of integrating and training new Raiders.

The Importance of New Recruits

Every survivor you rescue represents a potential increase in your faction's strength and resilience. They are not just passive inhabitants of your base; they can be trained and assigned to various roles, significantly enhancing your operational efficiency and defensive capabilities.

Rescuing and Integrating Survivors

The process typically begins with finding survivors during your expeditions. These individuals are often found in distress, trapped, or fending for themselves. Once rescued, they will be brought back to your base.

Training and Specialization

Upon arrival, new recruits will require training to become effective. The training process often involves:

  • Basic Combat Training: Equipping them with basic weapons and armor and having them participate in simulated combat scenarios or defend the base against minor threats. This improves their combat effectiveness and familiarity with your faction's tactics.
  • Skill Specialization: Based on their aptitude or your faction's needs, recruits can be specialized into different roles:
  • Defenders: Trained to operate defensive turrets, man barricades, and actively participate in base defense. They require combat proficiency and tactical awareness.
  • Engineers/Crafters: Assigned to crafting stations and research labs. They can speed up production, unlock new research options, or improve the efficiency of existing facilities.
  • Scavengers/Resource Managers: Tasked with managing stockpiles, organizing resource gathering expeditions, or operating automated resource extractors.
  • Medical Personnel: Assigned to medical bays, improving the speed and effectiveness of healing for both yourself and other survivors.

Assigning Roles and Responsibilities

Once trained, you can ass recruits to specific tasks within your base. This is often done through an interface that allows you to view available recruits and ass them to available stations or defensive posts. The effectiveness of a recruit in a role is often influenced by their individual stats or traits.

Progression and Development

Recruits can continue to develop over time:

  • Experience Gain: As they perform their assigned duties or participate in combat, recruits gain experience, improving their skills and unlocking new abilities.
  • Gear Upgrades: You can equip your trained recruits with better weapons and armor, further enhancing their effectiveness in their assigned roles.
  • Specialized Training Modules: Advanced research might unlock specialized training modules that allow recruits to gain unique perks or become more proficient in niche roles.

Managing Your Growing Population

As your base grows, so does the complexity of managing your population:

  • Morale: Ensure your survivors are well-equipped, safe, and have sufficient resources to maintain high morale. Low morale can lead to decreased efficiency or even unrest.
  • Housing and Amenities: Provide adequate living quarters and amenities to support a larger population.
  • Security: A larger population can also attract more attention from the ARC. Ensure your base defenses are scaled appropriately.

Example Scenario: Training a Defender

You rescue a survivor named 'Jax'. After bringing Jax back to your base, you ass them to the 'Combat Training' module. After a few in-game days, Jax becomes proficient in rifle combat. You then ass Jax to an 'Assault Turret' post. Jax's presence at the turret increases its firing rate and accuracy during ARC attacks.

By effectively training and utilizing new recruits, Raiders can transform a small survival camp into a formidable stronghold, capable of not only defending itself but also launching more ambitious operations against the ARC in ARC Raiders.
