While each Assassin has unique signature tools, some core items are shared across all three protagonists, albeit with slight variations in appearance or specific effects. These tools form the backbone of your stealth and distraction capabilities.

- Noise Dart / Firecracker: These throwable items are used to create a sound distraction, drawing the attention of nearby guards. Noise darts are generally single-target distractions, while firecrackers can affect a small group. They are invaluable for manipulating patrol routes, creating openings for silent takedowns, or luring enemies away from your path. Always aim them away from your intended direction of travel.
- Smoke Bomb: A powerful tactical tool that, when deployed, creates a cloud of smoke, disorienting all enemies within its radius. This provides a brief window to perform multiple silent takedowns, escape a dangerous situation, or quickly assassinate a target and flee. Smoke bombs are excellent for dealing with groups of enemies or when you've been detected and need to reset the engagement.
- Hidden Blade: The iconic weapon of the Assassins. Used for silent, instant takedowns on unsuspecting enemies from behind, above, or below. It is your primary tool for maintaining stealth and achieving high scores.
- Melee Weapon: Each Assassin carries a primary melee weapon (e.g., Shao Jun's Jian, Arbaaz's Talwar, Nikolai's Bayonet). Used for direct combat when stealth fails. While effective, direct combat is generally discouraged for high scores.
Mastering the timing and placement of these shared tools is fundamental to achieving 'Assassin' ranks.
