Clubs in Assassin's Creed III are optional, faction-based challenges that offer unique rewards and further immerse you in the game's world. There are three main Clubs: the Hunting Society, the Frontiersmen, and the Boston Brawlers. Each club has its own set of objectives that, once completed, unlock special items, outfits, and achievements. Joining and completing these clubs is highly recommended for completionists and those looking to get the most out of their Assassin's Creed III experience.

Hunting Society

The Hunting Society focuses on tracking and eliminating various animal species across the Frontier and Homestead. To join, you must first encounter and kill a specific animal in the wild. Once you've joined, you'll receive a series of hunting challenges, categorized by animal type and difficulty.

• Joining the Club: To initiate membership, simply hunt and skin any animal in the Frontier or Homestead. A prompt will appear inviting you to join the Hunting Society.
• Challenges: Challenges are broken down into tiers, each requiring you to hunt specific animals using particular methods or in certain locations. For example:
  • Tier 1:
    • Kill 5 Deer with a Hidden Blade.
    • Kill 3 Wolves with a Bow.
    • Skin 10 animals.
  • Tier 2:
    • Kill 2 Bears with a Pistol.
    • Kill 3 Elk with a Snare.
    • Find and kill a rare animal (e.g., a White Stag in the Black Creek region).
• Strategies:
  • Stealth is Key: For many challenges, a clean kill is required. Use tall grass, bushes, and trees for cover to approach animals undetected.
  • Bait and Traps: use bait to lure animals into specific areas, making them easier targets for snares or close-range weapon kills.
  • Weapon Specialization: Pay attention to the required weapon for each kill. Switching between your Bow, Pistol, and Hidden Blade quickly is crucial.
  • Rare Animals: Rare animals often appear in specific, sometimes less accessible, areas. Consult your map for animal icons and explore thoroughly.
• Rewards: Completing Hunting Society challenges unlocks unique hunting tools, crafting recipes, and the "Hunter" outfit.

Frontiersmen

The Frontiersmen are a group dedicated to exploring the wilderness, uncovering secrets, and helping those in need. Their challenges involve exploring specific locations, performing acts of heroism, and solving environmental puzzles.

• Joining the Club: To join, you must first discover and interact with a Frontiersmen mission giver. These are typically found in the Frontier, marked by a specific icon on your map (often a small cabin or campsite). One common starting point is near the Concord region.
• Challenges: Frontiersmen challenges are diverse and often involve exploration and interaction with the environment. Examples include:
  • Tier 1:
    • Discover 5 viewpoints in the Frontier.
    • Investigate 3 rumors of strange creatures.
    • Rescue 2 civilians from animal attacks.
  • Tier 2:
    • Find and map all Native American totems in the Frontier.
    • Solve the mystery of the "Pagan Stone" in the Great Piece of Turf region.
    • Help a settler defend their homestead from a wolf pack.
• Strategies:
  • Map Exploration: Thoroughly explore every corner of the Frontier. Viewpoints are crucial for revealing map sections and finding points of interest.
  • Listen for Cries: Keep an ear out for distress calls or unusual sounds, which often indicate a Frontiersmen event or a civilian in need of rescue.
  • Environmental Puzzles: Some challenges require keen observation and interaction with the environment. Look for clues, hidden paths, and objects that can be manipulated.
• Rewards: Completing Frontiersmen challenges grants you access to unique exploration tools, crafting recipes, and the "Frontiersman" outfit.

Boston Brawlers

The Boston Brawlers club is all about hand-to-hand combat and proving your strength in the streets of Boston and New York. Challenges involve winning bare-knuckle boxing matches and performing specific combat maneuvers.

• Joining the Club: To join, you must participate in and win your first bare-knuckle boxing match. These matches are found in specific taverns in Boston and New York, marked by a fist icon on your map. The first available fight is typically in the North End of Boston.
• Challenges: The Brawlers' challenges focus on your combat prowess and ability to defeat opponents in various ways. Examples include:
  • Tier 1:
    • Win 3 bare-knuckle boxing matches.
    • Disarm 5 enemies.
    • Perform 3 counter-kills.
  • Tier 2:
    • Win a bare-knuckle boxing match without taking damage.
    • Perform 5 environmental kills (e.g., throwing an enemy into a barrel).
    • Defeat the "Giant" brawler in New York.
• Strategies:
  • Counter is King: In bare-knuckle fights, mastering the counter-attack is essential. Wait for your opponent to strike, then press the counter button (usually Circle/B) for an opening.
  • Disarms and Throws: use disarms to remove weapons from armed opponents and throws (Circle/B + direction) to create openings or use environmental hazards.
  • Environmental Kills: Look for opportunities to use the environment to your advantage. Throwing enemies into walls, tables, or other objects can often result in an instant kill or stun.
  • Practice: The best way to improve your brawling skills is to practice. Engage in street fights with Redcoats or other thugs to hone your combat techniques.
• Rewards: Completing Boston Brawlers challenges unlocks powerful combat moves, weapon upgrades, and the "Brawler" outfit.
