Master these locales, and you'll be well on your way to becoming the most feared pirate in the West Indies.

Havana (240, 607)

The vibrant capital of Cuba, Havana is a bustling Spanish stronghold teeming with opportunities for both profit and peril. It's an excellent early-game hub for upgrading your gear and recruiting crew members, but also a hotbed of Templar activity.

• Key Objectives:
  • Synchronization Points: There are 5 viewpoints in Havana. Prioritize synchronizing these to reveal the map and uncover collectibles. The highest viewpoint is atop the Cathedral of Havana, offering a panoramic view of the city.
  • Assassination Contracts: Look for the pigeon coops marked on your map. Early contracts often involve eliminating Spanish officers or corrupt merchants, providing a good source of Reales.
  • Chests: Numerous chests are scattered throughout the city. Many are in plain sight, but some require light parkour or stealth to access. Keep an eye out for the distinctive glint.
  • Animus Fragments: Collect all 10 Animus Fragments to unlock database entries and gain a small XP boost. Many are found on rooftops or within restricted areas.
• Notable Collectibles & Strategies:
  • Shanty Pages: Two shanty pages can be found here. One often appears near the docks, requiring a chase sequence. The other is typically on a rooftop in the central district.
  • Treasure Chest (500 Reales): Located near the main market square, often guarded by two Spanish soldiers. A simple stealth approach from above or a quick double assassination will secure it.
  • Weapon Shop Upgrade: Visit the Weapon Shop near the docks to purchase your first Pistol Holster upgrade, allowing you to carry two pistols. This is crucial for early combat encounters.
  • Stealth Tip: use the dense crowds and numerous hiding spots (bushes, haystacks) to navigate Havana's restricted areas. Spanish guards have predictable patrol routes, making air assassinations and corner takedowns highly effective.

Nassau (633, 784)

The pirate haven of Nassau is your primary base of operations and a crucial location for upgrading the Jackdaw. While less hostile than Havana, it still holds its share of secrets and opportunities.

• Key Objectives:
  • Synchronization Points: 3 viewpoints are available. The one atop the Governor's Mansion offers a great overview of the town and surrounding waters.
  • Jackdaw Upgrades: This is where you'll spend the majority of your Reales and resources on ship improvements. Prioritize Hull Armor and Broadside Cannons for early naval superiority.
  • Tavern Management: After a certain point in the story, you'll gain control of the local tavern. Completing its mini-missions (often involving brawls or delivering messages) will increase your income.
  • Recruiting Crew: Look for distressed sailors being harassed by guards. Intervening will often net you new crew members for the Jackdaw.
• Notable Collectibles & Strategies:
  • Shanty Pages: One shanty page is typically found near the docks, often requiring a chase across rooftops.
  • Animus Fragments: 5 Animus Fragments are scattered around Nassau. Many are in the less-frequented areas behind buildings or on smaller shacks.
  • Crafting Materials: Nassau's general stores often stock basic crafting materials like Metal and Wood. Stock up before heading out on longer voyages.
  • Hunting Ground: The small jungle area surrounding Nassau offers opportunities to hunt iguanas and ocelots for crafting materials (Iguana Leather, Ocelot Pelt). Use your pistol for quick, clean kills.

Kingston (623, 172)

A heavily fortified British port, Kingston presents a significant challenge for any pirate. Expect increased guard presence and more complex stealth requirements. This location becomes more central to the story later in the game.

• Key Objectives:
  • Synchronization Points: 4 viewpoints are present. The one atop the main fort provides a strategic advantage for observing guard patrols.
  • Assassination Contracts: These contracts in Kingston are often more challenging, requiring careful planning and execution due to the higher concentration of guards.
  • Restricted Zones: A large portion of Kingston is a restricted zone. use blending with scholars and hiding in foliage to avoid detection.
• Notable Collectibles & Strategies:
  • Shanty Pages: Two shanty pages are typically found here. One often leads you on a lengthy chase through the market and across rooftops.
  • Animus Fragments: 8 Animus Fragments are hidden within Kingston. Many are in elevated positions or within the heavily guarded fort.
  • Elite Guards: Be wary of the red-coated elite guards. They are more perceptive and difficult to defeat in open combat. Prioritize stealth takedowns or use smoke bombs to disorient them.
  • Treasure Map (Isla Providencia): A specific treasure map leading to Isla Providencia (502, 44) can be found in a chest within the main fort. This map reveals the location of the El Dorado Outfit crafting plan.
