Post-Game Content
Congratulations, Misthios! The main story of Assassin's Creed Odyssey may be complete, but your journey through the Peloponnesian War is far from over. The post-game offers a wealth of activities, from wrapping up loose ends with your family to conquering legendary creatures and delving into the mysteries of the First Civilization. This detailed guide will help you navigate the vast amount of content awaiting you.
Reuniting the Family: The "Best Ending" Cleanup
For those who achieved the "Best Ending" (where Myrrine, Nikolaos, Stentor, and Deimos are all alive and reunited at the dinner table), there are still a few important steps to solidify your family's future and unlock additional content. If you didn't achieve this ending, some of these steps might not be available or will play out differently.
- The Spear of Leonidas: After the family reunion, Myrrine will task you with visiting the Forge of Atlantis. This is a crucial step to fully upgrade the Spear of Leonidas, unlocking its final perks and making it an even more formidable weapon. Head to the Volcanic Islands, specifically the Isle of Thera, to find the entrance to the Forge.
- Nikolaos's Fate: If you spared Nikolaos during the "Wolf of Sparta" questline, you can find him again in Phokis. He will offer you a side quest, "A God Among Men," which involves helping him find his true purpose. Completing this quest will provide closure for his character arc and some valuable XP.
- Stentor's Redemption: If Stentor survived the main story, he can be found in various military camps across Greece, often leading Spartan forces. He might offer you mercenary contracts or engage in dialogue reflecting on his past actions. While not a specific questline, interacting with him provides additional narrative depth.
- Deimos's Path: If Deimos was redeemed and survived, they will typically be found at the family home in Sparta. Interacting with them will often lead to unique dialogue options that explore their recovery and future. Keep an eye out for any potential follow-up quests, though these are less common than for other family members.
Continuing Your Saga: Atlantis and Beyond
The main story's conclusion often opens the door to the expansive First Civilization storyline and the episodic DLCs.
The Gates of Atlantis Questline
This questline is essential for understanding the deeper lore of Assassin's Creed Odyssey and leads directly into the "Fate of Atlantis" DLC. It begins with Pythagoras, who will guide you to the ancient gates.
- Initiation: The quest "A Family's Legacy" will automatically trigger after completing Chapter 7 of the main story. You'll need to meet Pythagoras at the Ancient Stronghold on the island of Thera.
- The Four Artifacts: To unlock the Gates of Atlantis, you must locate and defeat four mythical creatures, each guarding a powerful artifact. These creatures are formidable and require careful preparation.
- The Minotaur: Found in Messara, within the Labyrinth of Lost Souls. Be prepared for a challenging melee encounter.
- The Cyclops: Located in Kythera Island, in the Cave of the Forgotten Isle. This fight emphasizes dodging and exploiting environmental hazards.
- The Sphinx: Encountered in Boeotia, near the Lake Kopais. This is a riddle-based encounter, so pay close attention to her questions!
- Medusa: Found in Lesbos, in the Petrified Temple. This is arguably the toughest of the four, requiring precise dodging and ranged attacks.
- Return to Atlantis: Once all four artifacts are collected, return to Pythagoras at the Gates of Atlantis to continue the storyline.
DLC Content: Expanding Your Odyssey
The two major story DLCs, "Legacy of the First Blade" and "The Fate of Atlantis," offer hundreds of hours of additional gameplay, new regions, abilities, and gear.
- Legacy of the First Blade: This DLC delves into the origins of the Assassin Order. It is accessible after completing Chapter 7 of the main story and reaching Level 28.
- Episode 1: Hunted: Begins in Makedonia. Look for the quest "The Horsemen Cometh."
- Episode 2: Shadow Heritage: Continues the story in Achaia.
- Episode 3: Bloodline: Concludes the saga in Messenia.
- The Fate of Atlantis: This DLC explores the First Civilization in depth, taking you to mythical realms. It is accessible after completing the "A Family's Legacy" questline and reaching Level 28.
- Episode 1: Fields of Elysium: Takes you to the paradise of Elysium.
- Episode 2: Torment of Hades: Descend into the underworld.
- Episode 3: Judgment of Atlantis: Explore the legendary city itself.
