Shay's Assassin Hunting Strategies

As Shay Cormac, your mission shifts from hunting Templars to hunting Assassins. This requires a different approach, leveraging your unique skills and the tools at your disposal. Assassins are cunning and often operate from the shadows, making direct confrontation risky. Your primary advantage lies in your ability to predict their movements and use the environment to your benefit.

One of the most effective strategies is to utilize your Air Rifle with distractionary ammunition. When you suspect an Assassin is nearby, fire a sleep dart or a poison dart into a nearby object or group of guards. This will draw the Assassin out of hiding, either to investigate the disturbance or to eliminate the perceived threat. Once they are exposed, you can engage them directly or set up an ambush.

The rooftops are a common hunting ground for Assassins. Always be aware of your surroundings when traversing elevated areas. Use Eagle Vision frequently to spot hidden Assassins or those preparing to ambush you. If you see an Assassin on a rooftop, consider using your Air Rifle to take them down from a distance before they can react. Alternatively, you can use smoke bombs to disorient them and then perform a stealthy aerial assassination.

When engaging Assassins in direct combat, remember that they are skilled fighters. They will attempt to parry your attacks and use counter-assassinations. Focus on breaking their defenses with well-timed attacks and dodges. Utilize your pistol for quick bursts of damage or to interrupt their attacks. Remember that Shay's transition to the Templar Order has given him a unique perspective, and he's not afraid to use ruthless tactics.

Certain missions will involve tracking down specific Assassin targets. These often involve following clues, interrogating informants, or observing suspicious activity. Pay close attention to the mission objectives and any optional parameters that require you to remain undetected or achieve a certain kill method. For instance, in some sequences, you might need to eliminate targets without raising an alarm, which necessitates careful planning and execution.

Don't underestimate the power of your ship, the Morrigan, in certain scenarios. While primarily for naval combat, it can also be used to quickly traverse large areas and intercept Assassins attempting to escape by sea. The North Atlantic and River Valley are vast, and a swift ship can be the difference between success and failure when pursuing elusive targets.
