Social Clubs
Social Clubs are unique properties scattered across Paris that serve as bases of operation for Arno and the Assassin Brotherhood. Acquiring and renovating these clubs is not just about expanding your influence; it's a crucial step in generating a steady income stream and unlocking exclusive content. Think of them as your personal ATM in revolutionary Paris, but with a bit more elbow grease required.
Acquiring Social Clubs
There are a total of 7 Social Clubs available for purchase throughout Paris. You'll encounter your first Social Club opportunity early in the game, often as part of a tutorial or introductory mission. Each club is marked on your map with a distinct icon (often a house or building symbol with a dollar sign). To acquire a club, simply approach it and interact with the designated prompt. The initial purchase price for each club varies, but they are generally affordable, especially after completing a few main story missions or side activities.
- First Acquisition: Your first Social Club will likely be in the Île de la Cité district, often tied to a mission that introduces the concept of property management.
- Map Navigation: Use your map to locate remaining Social Clubs. They are typically found in central, high-traffic districts like Le Marais, Ventre de Paris, and Latin Quarter.
- Financial Planning: While the initial purchase is manageable, remember that renovation costs will follow. Prioritize acquiring clubs in districts where you frequently operate to maximize convenience.
Renovating Social Clubs
Once you've purchased a Social Club, it won't immediately start generating maximum income. You'll need to invest in renovations. Each club has a series of renovation options, typically costing between 500 Livres and 2,000 Livres per upgrade. These renovations are crucial for increasing the club's income potential and unlocking new benefits.
Renovation Tiers and Benefits:
Each Social Club offers several renovation tiers, each with specific benefits:
- Ground Floor Renovation: This is usually the first and most affordable renovation. It typically increases the club's base income and may unlock a new mission or side activity within the club.
- Upper Floor Renovation: A more expensive upgrade that further boosts income and often provides access to new areas within the club, such as a private study or a hidden room.
- Secret Passage Renovation: This is often the most costly renovation but offers significant advantages. It typically unlocks a secret passage or shortcut within the district, providing quick access to key locations or escape routes during pursuits. This is invaluable for efficient traversal and stealth.
- District Influence Renovation: Some clubs offer a final renovation that significantly increases your influence within the district, potentially reducing the notoriety gained from certain actions or increasing the effectiveness of your Assassin recruits.
Actionable Renovation Strategy:
- Prioritize Income: Focus on renovating the Ground Floor and Upper Floor first to maximize your passive income generation. The sooner you do this, the more money you'll accumulate over time.
- Unlock Secret Passages Early: While expensive, the Secret Passage renovations offer immense practical benefits. Prioritize these in districts where you frequently undertake missions or engage in high-risk activities. For example, the Secret Passage in Ventre de Paris can be a lifesaver during crowded market pursuits.
- Complete Club Missions: Many renovations are tied to specific "Club Missions." These are short, often stealth-focused objectives that, once completed, unlock the next renovation tier for that club. Look for these missions marked on your map within the club's vicinity.
- Stagger Renovations: Don't try to fully renovate one club before moving to the next. Acquire all clubs first, then focus on the initial income-boosting renovations for each. Once all clubs are generating a base income, then start investing in the more expensive Secret Passage and District Influence upgrades.
Collecting Income
Once renovated, your Social Clubs will generate a steady stream of income for Arno. This income is passively accumulated over time and can be collected from a chest located within each Social Club. The chest will glow when there is money available to collect. The amount of income generated depends on the number of renovations completed and your overall progress in the game.
- Collection Frequency: You can collect your income as often as you like, but it's generally most efficient to do so every 15-30 minutes of gameplay, or whenever you pass by a club. The income caps out after a certain amount, so regular collection is key to maximizing your earnings.
- Map Indicator: A small coin icon will appear above a Social Club on your map when there is income ready for collection.
- Strategic Collection: If you're low on Livres for a crucial equipment upgrade or a new weapon, make a quick circuit of your renovated Social Clubs to top up your funds.
Social Club Missions
Beyond passive income, each Social Club offers a series of unique "Club Missions." These are side quests that often involve assassinations, stealth objectives, or investigations tied to the club's specific narrative or the district's underworld. Completing these missions often unlocks further renovation options, unique gear, or additional income bonuses.
- Mission Markers: Club Missions are typically marked with a specific icon (often a stylized "S" or a unique quest marker) on your map when you are near the Social Club.
- Variety of Objectives: Expect a range of mission types, from eliminating rival gang leaders to recovering stolen goods or protecting club patrons.
- Rewards: Beyond unlocking renovations, these missions can reward you with significant Livres, unique weapons, or armor pieces that are not available through regular vendors. Always check the mission rewards before embarking.
