Combat Builds
Welcome, Raven Clan warrior! This section will guide you through crafting powerful combat builds to dominate your enemies across Anglo-Saxon England. Whether you prefer to cleave through foes with heavy axes or dance around them with swift daggers, we've got a strategy for you. Remember, experimentation is key, but these foundational builds will give you a strong starting point.
The Berserker's Fury (Heavy Hitter)
This build focuses on maximizing raw damage and stunning capabilities, allowing you to overwhelm even the toughest opponents. Ideal for players who enjoy direct confrontation and powerful, sweeping attacks.
Equipment:
- Main Hand Weapon: Sepulcher Axe. This two-handed axe offers immense damage and a wide attack arc, perfect for clearing groups. You can find it early in the game by defeating the Lost Drengr, Erik Loyalskull, in Rygjafylke.
- Off-Hand Weapon: Varin's Axe (or another one-handed axe). Dual-wielding axes provides a good balance of speed and power, and Varin's Axe is a reliable early-game option given to you by your father.
- Armor Set: Berserker Armor Set. This set significantly boosts your attack and speed after taking damage, synergizing perfectly with a high-risk, high-reward playstyle. This set is typically acquired through the Ultimate Edition or as a reward from specific quests.
- Bow: Huntsman Bow. While primarily a melee build, a strong hunter bow like the Huntsman Bow (found in Grantebridgescire) is excellent for picking off distant archers or weak points.
Abilities & Skills:
- Active Abilities:
- Rage of Helheim: Unleash a powerful, unblockable attack that stuns enemies. Essential for crowd control and breaking enemy defenses.
- Harpoon Impalement: Pulls an enemy towards you and impales them, dealing heavy damage. Great for isolating priority targets or interrupting charging foes.
- Key Skills (Bear Skill Tree):
- Heavy Dual Wield: Allows you to dual-wield two-handed weapons, further increasing your damage output with the Sepulcher Axe.
- Warrior's Fury: Increases attack after a parry.
- Grit: Recover a portion of lost health when landing successful melee attacks. Crucial for sustaining aggressive engagements.
- Battlefield Cremation: Enemies you kill with melee attacks explode, dealing damage to nearby foes. Excellent for clearing groups.
Strategy:
Engage enemies head-on. Use your heavy attacks to break shields and stagger opponents. Don't be afraid to take a hit, as the Berserker Armor will empower you. Utilize Rage of Helheim to stun groups or powerful elites, then follow up with a flurry of attacks. For armored foes, aim for weak points or use Harpoon Impalement to create openings. Always keep an eye on your stamina, and use light attacks to recover if needed.
The Shadow Striker (Stealth & Agility)
For those who prefer a more subtle approach, this build focuses on swift, precise strikes and silent takedowns. Ideal for players who enjoy flanking, assassinating, and controlling the battlefield from the shadows.
Equipment:
- Main Hand Weapon: Fafnir's Fang (Spear). Spears offer excellent reach and quick attacks, perfect for maintaining distance while dealing consistent damage. Fafnir's Fang is a strong early-game spear found in the Raider Camp in Rygjafylke.
- Off-Hand Weapon: Kopis (Dagger). Daggers provide rapid attacks and are excellent for building up combo multipliers. The Kopis can be found in the Temple of Ceres in Glowecestrescire.
- Armor Set: Raven Clan Armor Set. This set boosts stealth and evasion, making it easier to remain undetected and avoid incoming damage. This is your starting armor set, so upgrade it!
- Bow: Predator Bow. For silent, long-range assassinations, a Predator Bow is indispensable. The Hunnish Bow (found in Ledecestrescire) is a good early option.

- Active Abilities:
- Man's Best Friend: Send your wolf companion to distract or attack enemies, creating openings for assassinations or flanking maneuvers.
- Rush & Bash: Charge forward, knocking down enemies in your path. Excellent for creating distance or interrupting enemy attacks.
- Key Skills (Raven Skill Tree):
- Advanced Assassination: Allows you to assassinate high-level enemies with a well-timed button press. Crucial for stealth builds.
- Chain Assassination: After an assassination, throw an axe at a second nearby enemy. Perfect for clearing multiple targets silently.
- Backstab: Deal increased damage when attacking an enemy from behind.
- Stealth Recon: Automatically tag enemies when crouching in stealth. Improves situational awareness.
Strategy:
Prioritize stealth takedowns whenever possible. Use your Predator Bow to eliminate archers or isolated targets from a distance. When engaging in open combat, rely on the speed of your spear and dagger. Dodge frequently to avoid damage and position yourself for backstabs. Use Man's Best Friend to create distractions or to thin out enemy numbers before engaging directly. Rush & Bash can be used defensively to escape dangerous situations or offensively to knock down groups of weaker foes.
