Jubair al Hakim Boss Strategy
Jubair al Hakim, the Master of the Library in Damascus, presents a unique challenge that emphasizes ranged combat and environmental awareness. Unlike many other Order of the Ancients members, Jubair relies heavily on his archers and the treacherous terrain of his stronghold. Your primary objective is to neutralize his ranged threats and then engage him directly.
Upon entering the arena, you will immediately be targeted by multiple archers positioned on the rooftops and surrounding walls. Your first priority is to eliminate these archers. Use your bow and the Eagle Vision ability to quickly identify and target them. Prioritize archers who have a clear line of sight and are actively firing. The Arrow Volley ability can be extremely effective here, allowing you to clear multiple targets with a single well-aimed shot.
Once the immediate archer threat is diminished, you can focus on Jubair himself. He will be positioned in the center of the courtyard, often behind cover. He will periodically unleash volleys of arrows from his own bow. These can be dodged by sprinting to the side or by using the environment for cover. Look for opportunities to close the distance when he is reloading or has just finished a volley.
When you are within melee range, Jubair is not as formidable. He will attempt to parry your attacks, but his parry window is relatively small. Focus on landing a few quick hits and then be prepared to dodge his counter-attacks. If you have acquired the Counterweight ability, it can be useful for interrupting his attacks and creating openings. Be aware of the environment; there are often pots of oil scattered around the courtyard. If you can lure Jubair near one and then shoot it with an arrow, you can inflict sificant splash damage.
A key strategy is to use the library's structure to your advantage. Duck behind pillars and walls to break line of sight with any remaining archers. If you find yourself overwhelmed, retreat to a more defensible position and reassess. Looting Jubair's body will yield the Order Medallion and potentially valuable crafting materials.
