Majd Addin, the Templar encountered in the Masyaf Castle, is a swift and agile opponent who utilizes a combination of swordplay and environmental traps. Majd Addin is a master swordsman, employing rapid strikes and evasive maneuvers. His primary offensive consists of a flurry of quick sword slashes, often followed by a lunging thrust. The key to this fight is to match his agility and to capitalize on his brief moments of vulnerability after his combos.
The Masyaf Castle environment is filled with elevated platforms, archways, and narrow corridors, which Majd Addin expertly uses to his advantage. He will often leap from higher ground or use the architecture to disorient Altaïr. When he is in melee range, focus on Parrying his sword strikes. A successful parry will stagger him, allowing for a few quick hits with the Hidden Blade. However, be cautious, as he can quickly recover and counter-attack. If you find yourself struggling to parry his rapid strikes, prioritizing dodges to the side is a safer alternative. His lunging thrust attack has a clear telegraph and can be dodged effectively by moving laterally.
Majd Addin also employs a unique ability where he can summon guards to assist him. These guards are less of a threat individually but can overwhelm Altaïr if not dealt with quickly. Prioritize eliminating these summoned guards as soon as they appear, ideally with a swift Throwing Knife or a quick area-of-effect attack if available. This will allow you to refocus your attention on Majd Addin. A common mistake is to engage Majd Addin in a prolonged sword fight without utilizing the environment or his weaknesses. He is particularly vulnerable after performing his leaping attacks or after a successful parry. The Eagle Vision ability can be invaluable in tracking his movements through the castle and anticipating his ambushes. If you are taking sificant damage, use the castle's architecture to break line of sight and consume a Health Potion. Patience and precise execution are vital. Successfully defeating Majd Addin is a crucial step in reclaiming Masyaf.
