Class Builds & Multiclassing

Understanding Skill Checks is crucial for successful dialogue and exploration in Baldur's Gate 3. These checks require you to roll a die and meet or exceed a Difficulty Class (DC) number. Characters with relevant skill bonuses, such as a +1 Intelligence bonus, gain an advantage in these rolls, increasing their chances of success.

During dialogue, a prompt will explain how Skill Checks function. For example, when investigating a pool, you might face a DC 10 Investigation check. If your character has a +1 Intelligence bonus, this bonus is added to your die roll. Failing a Skill Check can lead to different outcomes. For instance, if you fail the Investigation check on the pool, you are presented with two options:

  1. Reach toward the pool.
  2. Leave.

Choosing to reach toward the pool after a failed check will cause the Nursery to explode. Regardless of the outcome, you can find several cartilaginous chests at (X:47 Y:-436) containing Potions and other miscellaneous items. Utilize the Jump action to cross gaps and fires to loot bodies. If you take fire damage, interact with the Restoration point to recover health.

Proceed to the next room by interacting with the Sphincter at (X:28 Y:-424). In the subsequent area, you will discover more potions and scrolls on dead Imps. Move to the platform at (X:0 Y:-427) and interact with one of the Neural Apparatus to reach higher ground. Here, you can interact with Myrnath (X:0 Y:-430); initial dialogue choices with Myrnath do not significantly alter events.
