Player Choices and Consequences

Your initial choices when encountering Arka are:

  1. Shut up. Those words could be your last.
  2. Step between the crossbow and the goblin.
  3. Do nothing.

Choosing to Step between the crossbow and the goblin will gain the approval of Gale. Arka will then ask you to move, presenting further dialogue options:

  1. [INTIMIDATION] Lower the crossbow, or I'll deliver you right to your brother.
  2. [PERSUASION] No, shoot me. Should be easy, right?
  3. [PERSUASION] This won't avenge Kanon. It won't change anything.
  4. [DETECT THOUGHTS] Read the tiefling's thoughts.
  5. Step out of the way.

Selecting the third option, [PERSUASION] This won't avenge Kanon. It won't change anything., requires a successful Charisma skill check with a DC of 10. If successful, Arka will lower her crossbow, acknowledging your point but expressing her wish that you weren't right. She will then question why you care about a goblin's life, leading to more choices:

  1. Because she's not a practice target. She's a person.
  2. If she dies, she'll take everything she knows to the grave.
  3. A goblin prisoner. Her life isn't yours to take.
  4. Because vengeance eats people alive. You'll grant the goblins two victories this day.
  5. My reasons are my own.

Choosing the fourth option in this sequence will gain Shadowheart's approval but lead to Lae'zel's disapproval.
