After the initial combat at the Emerald Grove gates, you will enter the Emerald Grove (X:209 Y:454). Here, you will witness Aradin and Zevlor arguing. Your choices in this interaction can influence companion approval and the immediate outcome of their dispute.

Upon entering Emerald Grove, you'll find Aradin and Zevlor in a heated argument. You will be presented with several dialogue options:

  1. Where there's one goblin, there's ten. I'm leaving before the horde shows up.
  2. One fight just ended, and now you're picking another? Relax.
  3. Druid? Those goblins didn't take any prisoners.
  4. You can cough up my payment any time now.

Choosing the second option, "One fight just ended, and now you're picking another? Relax.", will lead to Zevlor and Aradin exchanging insults. You will then have another set of choices:

  1. [INTIMIDATION] If you want me to take both of you down, I will. Otherwise, knock it off.
  2. Stand back and watch.
  3. [PERSUASION] More violence won't bring back those you lost. Stop and think.

Selecting the third option, "[PERSUASION] More violence won't bring back those you lost. Stop and think.", requires a successful DC 15 skill check. If successful, Zevlor will agree that squabbling is pointless given the goblins have found their camp. Aradin will make a final insulting comment, but Zevlor will not retaliate. Successfully passing this skill check will earn approval from both Shadowheart and Gale.

Before proceeding through the gate, you can loot the corpses of fallen enemies from the preceding combat. If Barth died during the encounter, you can obtain the Brass Locket from his corpse.
