Chapter 2: Athkatla - Slums District
The Copper Coronet: Rescuing Hendak
This quest begins immediately upon entering the Copper Coronet in the Slums District. You'll witness a confrontation between Hendak, a gladiator, and the establishment's owner, Lehtinan. Hendak is being unfairly treated and seeks your aid in freeing the other gladiators.
- Objective: Free the slaves held captive in the Copper Coronet's arena.

Steps:
- Confront Lehtinan: Speak with Lehtinan, the proprietor, about the gladiators. He will be uncooperative.
- Locate the Arena Entrance: The entrance to the arena is located in the back of the Copper Coronet, usually guarded. You may need to pickpocket a key from Lehtinan or a guard, or simply force your way through.
- Navigate the Arena: Once inside, you'll encounter various hostile creatures and guards. Be prepared for combat.
- Find the Slave Pens: The slave pens are typically located deeper within the arena complex. Look for cells or holding areas.
- Free the Slaves: Interact with the locked cells to free the gladiators. You may need to find a key or use a character with high Open Locks skill.
- Defeat the Beastmaster: The Beastmaster, a key antagonist, will likely confront you. Defeat him to secure the slaves' freedom. He often drops valuable loot, so ensure you search his body.
- Return to Hendak: After freeing the slaves, return to Hendak. He will thank you and become the new owner of the Copper Coronet, offering his services as a merchant and a place to rest.
- Rewards: Experience points, reputation gain, access to Hendak's shop, and the Copper Coronet as a friendly hub.
The Slavers' Stronghold: Dealing with the Slavers
After freeing the gladiators in the Copper Coronet, Hendak will inform you about the true source of the slavery: a Slavers' Stronghold located beneath the city. This quest is a direct follow-up to "Rescuing Hendak."
- Objective: Infiltrate and dismantle the Slavers' Stronghold.
- Location: The entrance to the Slavers' Stronghold is found within the Copper Coronet, often disguised or hidden. Hendak will reveal its location.

- Enter the Stronghold: Descend into the Slavers' Stronghold. Be prepared for a significant dungeon crawl.
- Combat Encounters: The stronghold is heavily guarded by slavers, their beasts, and various traps. Utilize crowd control spells and area-of-effect abilities to manage large groups of enemies. Rogues are invaluable for disarming traps and scouting ahead.
- Rescue More Slaves: You will encounter more enslaved individuals throughout the stronghold. Freeing them often grants experience and may lead to additional dialogue or minor rewards.
- Locate the Slaver Leader: Your ultimate goal is to find and defeat the leader of the slavers. This individual is typically well-guarded and presents a challenging fight.
- Acquire the Slaver Leader's Key/Journal: The leader will likely carry a key to important areas or a journal detailing their operations. This can be crucial for completing the quest and understanding the broader narrative.
- Clear the Stronghold: Ensure all significant threats are neutralized and any remaining slaves are freed.
- Report to Hendak: Return to Hendak in the Copper Coronet to inform him of your success.
- Key Items/Loot: Expect to find various magical items, gold, and potentially unique weapons or armor from defeated slavers and hidden caches. The Slaver Leader often drops valuable equipment.
