Confronting Oswald Cobblepot, also known as the Penguin, in the Ice Lounge of the Museum requires a specific gadget and strategy to overcome his formidable Freeze Gun. This section will guide you through acquiring the necessary tool and executing the takedown.

Pre-Requisite: Acquiring the Disruptor

Before you can effectively challenge Penguin, you must first rescue Mr. Freeze and obtain his specialized gadget.

1. Locate Mr. Freeze: Mr. Freeze is being held captive elsewhere within the Museum complex. Follow your main objective marker to his location.
2. Clear the Torture Chamber: Upon finding Mr. Freeze, you'll likely need to clear out a room full of Penguin's thugs, often referred to as the "Torture Chamber." Engage and neutralize all hostiles.
3. Obtain the Disruptor: After securing the area and a brief cinematic with Mr. Freeze, interact with his specialized suit. This action will grant you the Disruptor gadget, which is crucial for disabling Penguin's Freeze Gun.

Confronting Penguin in the Ice Lounge

With the Disruptor in hand, you are now ready to face Penguin. The key to this encounter is to close the distance and disable his weapon at the opportune moment.

1. Enter the Ice Lounge: Make your way to the Ice Lounge where Penguin is stationed, wielding his powerful Freeze Gun.
2. Navigate the Outer Hallway: Penguin will be firing ice blasts across the room. You must carefully work your way around the outer hallway, using cover and dodging his attacks to avoid being frozen.
3. Approach the Walkway: Your goal is to reach the walkway that leads directly to Penguin's elevated position. Continue to evade his ice blasts as you advance.
4. Select the Disruptor: As you get closer, ensure the Disruptor is equipped. On most controllers, this is done by pressing Right on the D-pad twice.
5. Execute the Disruptor Attack:
   • Wait for Penguin to fire an ice blast.
   • Immediately after he fires, sprint directly towards him across the walkway.
   • When you are approximately 25-50% across the walkway, you will be within range to use the Disruptor.
   • Aim and Fire: Hold down the aim button (typically LT or L2) and then press and hold the fire button (typically RT or R2) to activate the Disruptor and target Penguin.
   • The Disruptor needs to successfully hit Penguin twice to disable his Freeze Gun.
6. Close the Distance and Takedown:
   • Once Penguin's Freeze Gun has been disrupted twice, he will be vulnerable.
   • Continue to run directly up to him.
   • If a cinematic doesn't automatically trigger, press the Strike button (typically X or Square) to initiate a combat takedown and defeat Penguin.

Important Tip: Timing is critical. Penguin's ice blasts can be devastating. Prioritize dodging and only advance when you have a clear opening after he has just fired. The Disruptor's range is generous enough that you don't need to be directly on top of him for the first few hits.
