Objective 1: The Master Thief (Catwoman Episode 1)
Your journey begins as Catwoman, deep within the confines of Arkham City. Your primary goal is to recover your stolen loot from Two-Face. This introductory segment serves as a tutorial for Catwoman's unique traversal and combat abilities.
- Initial Location: You'll begin in a small, enclosed area within the Industrial District.
- Traversal: Utilize Catwoman's enhanced agility. Look for climbable walls marked with distinct textures. Use her Whip to swing across gaps and reach higher ledges.
- Combat Introduction: Engage the initial group of Two-Face's thugs. Focus on quick, fluid strikes and dodges. Catwoman's Caltrops are excellent for crowd control, stunning multiple enemies simultaneously.
- Loot Recovery: Follow the objective marker to Two-Face's hideout. You'll encounter more resistance. Once inside, locate the vault containing your stolen gems.
- Boss Encounter: Prepare for a confrontation with Two-Face himself. This fight is less about brute force and more about environmental awareness. Use the destructible elements and Catwoman's speed to your advantage.
- Key Item: After defeating Two-Face, you'll recover your Stolen Gems, completing Catwoman's first episode.
Objective 2: The Arrest (Batman's Introduction)
Following Catwoman's escapade, the focus shifts to Batman. You'll be forcibly introduced to Arkham City by Hugo Strange's forces.
- Initial Location: You'll find yourself in the processing area of Arkham City, stripped of your gear.
- Escape & Recon: Your immediate priority is to escape your holding cell. Look for a weak point in the wall or a vent. Once out, navigate the facility, avoiding or silently taking down Tyger Guards.
- Retrieve Your Gear: Your primary objective is to locate your Batsuit and gadgets. Follow the on-screen markers. You'll find your Utility Belt and Batsuit in a secure locker room. This is a critical step as it unlocks all of Batman's core abilities.
- First Encounter: After re-equipping, you'll face a larger group of Tyger Guards. This is your first opportunity to utilize Batman's full combat potential, including counters and gadget integration.
- Exit Strategy: Make your way to the exterior of Arkham City. You'll need to bypass several security checkpoints. The Grapple Gun is essential for scaling walls and reaching rooftops.
Objective 3: Saving One of the Nine
Once outside, Commissioner Gordon contacts you with an urgent plea: save one of the "Nine," political prisoners targeted by Hugo Strange. This objective will guide you to the Church.
- Navigation: Use your Grapple Gun and Glide ability to traverse the rooftops of Arkham City. The objective marker will guide you towards the Church in the Bowery district.
- Encountering Thugs: The streets and rooftops are patrolled by various gangs. Engage them strategically. Remember to use your Batarangs to stun distant enemies or disrupt armed foes.
- Church Approach: As you near the Church, you'll notice snipers positioned on surrounding buildings. These are high-priority targets.
- Sniper Takedown Strategy:
- Activate Detective Mode to identify sniper positions.
- Prioritize the snipers on the highest vantage points first.
- Use your Grapple Boost to quickly close distances to rooftops.
- Perform silent takedowns from above or behind. A Glide Kick followed by a ground pound is effective.
- Be aware of patrol routes of other armed thugs on the ground.
- Entering the Church: Once the snipers are dealt with, approach the main entrance of the Church. Prepare for a significant combat encounter inside.
- Hostage Situation: Inside, you'll find the hostage surrounded by armed thugs. Utilize the environment for stealth takedowns. The gargoyles are perfect perches for Inverted Takedowns.
- Key Item/Upgrade: Successfully saving the hostage will often reward you with experience points, allowing you to unlock your first combat or gadget upgrades. Consider investing in Critical Strikes or Armor Plating for increased survivability.
