Chapter 2: The Plan

Welcome to "The Plan," the second chapter of Battlefield V's "Under No Flag" War Story. This mission tasks you with a critical infiltration of a German airbase to sabotage their airpower. Stealth is paramount, but be prepared for intense firefights if your cover is blown. This guide will provide a comprehensive, step-by-step walkthrough to ensure you achieve your objectives efficiently and effectively, including optimal routes, enemy placements, and collectible locations.

Mission Objectives:

  • Infiltrate the German Airbase
  • Destroy 3 German Aircraft
  • Escape the Airbase

Recommended Loadout & Strategy:

For this mission, a stealth-oriented approach is highly recommended. Equip a silenced primary weapon (e.g., the Sten or MP40 with suppressor) and a silenced sidearm (e.g., P38 with suppressor). Smoke grenades can be invaluable for creating diversions or cover during exfiltration. Always carry a few health pouches.

  • Stealth First: Prioritize silent takedowns and avoid direct confrontation whenever possible. Use your binoculars (default: 'B' on PC, 'Up' on D-pad for consoles) to tag enemies and observe patrol patterns.
  • Environmental Awareness: The airbase is full of cover – crates, hangars, vehicles, and rocky outcrops. Use it to your advantage.
  • Explosives: You'll be provided with explosives to destroy the aircraft. Ensure you plant them carefully and are clear before detonation.
  • Escape Route Planning: Always have an exit strategy in mind, especially if things go south.

Walkthrough: Infiltrating the Airbase

You begin on a ridge overlooking the German airbase. This is your prime opportunity to scout the area.

  1. Initial Reconnaissance:
    • Immediately equip your binoculars. Scan the entire airbase. You'll notice several patrol routes and stationary guards.
    • Key Enemies to Tag:
      • Two guards patrolling the main road leading into the base from the west.
      • One sniper in the watchtower near the main entrance.
      • Several guards around the first hangar on the western side.
    • Optimal Entry Point: The most discreet entry is from the south-western rocky cliffs. This path offers good cover and leads directly towards the first aircraft target.
  2. Approach the Airbase (South-West Route):
    • Descend from the ridge, staying low and using the large boulders and sparse vegetation for cover.
    • You'll encounter a lone guard patrolling near a small outpost at the base of the cliffs. Wait for him to turn away, then perform a silent melee takedown. Hide his body in the tall grass.
    • Continue moving east along the perimeter, hugging the rocky wall. You'll avoid the main road patrols this way.

Destroying the Aircraft (Target 1 of 3)

Your first target is typically a bomber or transport plane located in the westernmost hangar or parked just outside it.

  1. Hangar 1 & First Aircraft:
    • As you approach the first hangar from the south, you'll see two guards: one stationary near the hangar entrance and another patrolling between the hangar and a nearby fuel truck.
    • Wait for the patrolling guard to move away from the entrance. Silently take down the stationary guard first. Then, ambush the patrolling guard when he returns.
    • Collectible Opportunity: Inside this hangar, on a workbench near the back wall, you'll find Letter from Home #1.
    • Approach the designated aircraft. Interact with it to plant the explosives. Once planted, quickly move away from the aircraft to avoid the blast.
    • Important: Planting the explosives will trigger a short timer. Ensure you're in cover before it detonates. The explosion will alert nearby enemies, so be prepared for increased vigilance.

Moving to the Second Aircraft (Target 2 of 3)

The second aircraft is usually located in the central part of the airbase, often near the control tower or a larger maintenance hangar.

  1. Navigating the Central Area:
    • After the first explosion, move cautiously towards the center of the base. The most direct route involves crossing an open tarmac area, which is risky.
    • Recommended Route: Head north from Hangar 1, using the parked vehicles and smaller structures as cover. This path will lead you towards the rear of the main control tower.
    • You'll encounter more patrols here, including a heavy gunner near a sandbagged position. Use smoke grenades to obscure his vision if a direct stealth approach is too difficult, or flank him from the left.
    • Collectible Opportunity: Near the base of the control tower, behind some crates, you'll find Letter from Home #2.
  2. Destroying the Second Aircraft:
    • The second aircraft is often a fighter plane parked near the control tower or inside the large central hangar.
    • Clear any immediate threats around the aircraft. There might be a mechanic working on it or a guard standing watch.
    • Plant the explosives and retreat to a safe distance. The second explosion will further escalate enemy awareness.

Reaching the Final Aircraft (Target 3 of 3)

The third and final aircraft is typically located on the eastern side of the airbase, often in another hangar or on an exposed runway section.

  1. Eastward Movement & Final Target:
    • From the central area, proceed east. Be extremely cautious as the entire base is now on high alert.
    • Expect increased enemy patrols and potentially a few stationary machine gun nests. Use cover extensively and pick off enemies silently when possible.
    • Common Pitfall: Do not attempt to run across the main runway without clearing the surrounding area. Snipers in distant watchtowers can easily spot you.
    • The third aircraft will be in the easternmost hangar or on the adjacent runway. Clear the area around it.
    • Collectible Opportunity: Inside the eastern hangar, on a shelf near some tools, you'll find Letter from Home #3.
    • Plant the final set of explosives.

Exfiltration: Escaping the Airbase

Once all three aircraft are destroyed, your objective will update to "Escape the Airbase."

  1. Escape Route:
    • The most straightforward escape route is often indicated by a marker on your HUD. This usually leads to the north-eastern perimeter of the base, where a vehicle or a designated extraction point awaits.
    • Alternatively, you can retrace your steps back to the south-western cliffs, but this might involve encountering respawned enemies.
    • If you've maintained stealth, you might be able to slip out relatively unnoticed. If you've been detected, be prepared for a running gun battle. Use smoke grenades to break line of sight and sprint towards the objective.
    • There may be a German vehicle (e.g., a Kubelwagen) available near the escape point. If so, use it to quickly drive out of the mission area.

Collectibles Summary:

There are 3 Letters from Home to find in "The Plan." Collecting all of them contributes to your War Story progression and unlocks rewards.

Collectible Location Description
Letter from Home #1 Western Hangar On a workbench inside the first hangar you infiltrate, located on the western side of the airbase.
Letter from Home #2 Control Tower Base Near the base of the main control tower, behind some stacked crates or barrels.
Letter from Home #3 Eastern Hangar Inside the easternmost hangar, on a shelf or table near some tools or equipment.

By following these detailed steps, you should be able to complete "The Plan" with maximum efficiency, securing all collectibles and minimizing casualties. Good luck, soldier!
