Post-Game Content
Congratulations, Conductor! You've successfully navigated the treacherous bureaucracy and moral dilemmas of the Ministry. But the work isn't over yet. Beholder: Conductor offers a wealth of post-game content designed to challenge your strategic thinking, test your ethical boundaries, and uncover even deeper secrets of the State. This section will guide you through all the new opportunities that open up after the credits roll.
New Game+ (NG+)
Upon completing the main story, you'll unlock New Game+. This mode allows you to restart the game with certain advantages and new challenges. It's the perfect way to experiment with different choices and see alternative outcomes.
- Retained Upgrades: All apartment upgrades (e.g., "Advanced Surveillance Kit," "Hidden Compartment," "Soundproofing") and character skills (e.g., "Persuasion Expert," "Lockpicking Mastery") you unlocked in your previous playthrough will carry over. This gives you an immediate edge in early game investigations.
- Increased Difficulty: Expect more stringent Ministry demands, faster suspicion accumulation for tenants, and fewer opportunities for bribery. The "Ministry Oversight" meter will fill more rapidly, requiring quicker action and more precise decision-making.
- Exclusive Directives: NG+ introduces a new set of "Black Dossier Directives." These are highly sensitive and often morally ambiguous tasks issued directly by Minister Petrov. Completing them can unlock unique "State Commendations" and rare apartment decorations like the "Hero of the State Bust."
- "The Architect's Legacy" Questline: This new questline becomes available after your first few directives in NG+. It delves into the mysterious origins of the apartment building and the State itself.
- Step 1: The Cryptic Note: After completing your third Black Dossier Directive, a "Cryptic Note" will appear on your desk. It hints at a hidden archive within the building.
- Step 2: Locating the Archive: The note refers to "the lowest point, where the pipes sing." This points to the boiler room in the basement. Interact with the old, rusty valve on the far wall (near the "Emergency Shut-off" lever) to reveal a hidden passage.
- Step 3: The Architect's Journal: Inside the hidden passage, you'll find "The Architect's Journal" and a "Deciphering Kit." The journal contains fragmented entries about the building's true purpose.
- Step 4: Deciphering the Journal: Use the "Deciphering Kit" in your apartment's study. This is a mini-game requiring you to match symbols. Successfully deciphering the journal unlocks new dialogue options with certain NPCs and reveals a shocking truth about the State's founding.
Endless Mode: The Perpetual Overseer
For those who crave an unending challenge, "Endless Mode" is unlocked after completing the main story on any difficulty. In this mode, the game continues indefinitely, presenting you with a constant stream of new tenants, directives, and evolving scenarios.
- Dynamic Tenant Generation: Tenants are randomly generated with unique traits, backstories, and potential infractions. You'll encounter a wider variety of personalities and challenges, ensuring no two playthroughs are exactly alike.
- Escalating Ministry Demands: The Ministry's demands become increasingly complex and contradictory over time. You'll need to balance multiple, often conflicting, directives simultaneously.
- "Reputation" System: A new "Reputation" meter is introduced. Your actions (e.g., reporting innocent tenants, helping dissidents, ignoring directives) will affect your standing with various factions within the State and the underground resistance. High reputation with the State might grant you access to advanced surveillance tech, while a good reputation with the resistance could open up opportunities for sabotage or escape.
- Rare Item Acquisition: Endless Mode offers a chance to acquire extremely rare items and blueprints not found in the main campaign.
- "Ministry Black Box": Occasionally dropped by high-ranking Ministry officials when reported. Contains classified documents that can be sold on the black market for a significant profit or used to blackmail officials.
- "Resistance Radio Scrambler Blueprint": Found in hidden stashes within certain tenant apartments (randomized). Allows you to build a device that temporarily jams Ministry surveillance, giving you a window for illicit activities. Requires 3x "Copper Wiring," 2x "Circuit Boards," and 1x "Advanced Transistor" (all found through searching tenant apartments or purchasing from the Black Market Dealer).
- Leaderboards: Compete with other Conductors globally on the "Perpetual Overseer Leaderboards." Your score is based on a combination of successful directives, tenant management, and your final "Reputation" standing.
The "Truth Seeker" Achievements
Beyond the standard achievements, a special set of "Truth Seeker" achievements are available only in post-game content. These often require specific, non-obvious actions or uncovering deeply hidden lore.
- "Unveiling the Architect": Complete "The Architect's Legacy" questline in NG+.
- "The Great Escape Artist": Successfully help 10 different tenants escape the State in Endless Mode without being caught. This requires careful planning and often involves acquiring "Forged Passports" from the Black Market Dealer (cost: 5000 State Credits).
- "Master of Manipulation": Successfully frame 5 Ministry officials for crimes in Endless Mode. This involves planting incriminating evidence (e.g., "Prohibited Literature," "Foreign Currency") in their apartments and then reporting them.
Embrace the challenge, Conductor. The State always watches, and your vigilance is paramount.
