Advanced Survival Strategies

While basic survival tips are covered in 'Getting Started', these advanced strategies will help you navigate the later, more dangerous chapters with greater efficiency and less stress.

• Sound Cues are Paramount: Beyond basic listening, learn the distinct sound profiles of each enemy. The Ink Demon's heavy footsteps, the Projectionist's whirring, the Butcher Gang's grunts, and Searchers' gurgles are all unique. Use headphones for optimal sound awareness.
• Miracle Station Management: Don't just use 'Miracle Stations' when you're in immediate danger. Plan your routes around them. If you know a dangerous area is ahead, identify the nearest station before proceeding. Use them to observe enemy patrols safely.
• Resource Conservation: Bacon Soup is scarce. Only use it when absolutely necessary. Avoid taking damage whenever possible. Melee weapons also have durability; don't waste swings on non-hostile objects or enemies you can easily evade.
• Environmental Exploitation: Use the environment to your advantage. Break line of sight with enemies using corners and obstacles. Lure enemies into traps (e.g., leading the Projectionist to the Ink Demon). Some areas have environmental hazards that can damage enemies or create distractions.
• Patience is a Virtue: Especially in areas with the Ink Demon or Projectionist, rushing will almost always lead to death. Take your time, observe patrol patterns, and move only when you have a clear path.
• Backtracking for Safety: If an area becomes too dangerous, don't be afraid to backtrack to a previously cleared or safer zone to regroup or wait for enemies to despawn/move.

Implementing these strategies will significantly improve your chances of survival, especially on higher difficulties or during speedruns.
