While most inhabitants of Joey Drew Studios are hostile, a few characters offer brief respite or even assistance to Henry. Understanding their nature is key to navigating certain chapters.

- Boris the Wolf: An animated, friendly version of the cartoon character. You encounter him in Chapter 3. He acts as a companion, following Henry and occasionally helping with minor tasks, but he cannot fight. His presence offers a rare moment of comfort in the terrifying studio. His fate is a significant plot point.
- Lost Ones: These are ink-covered, humanoid figures who are not inherently hostile unless provoked. They are former employees of Joey Drew Studios, now trapped and corrupted by the ink. They often wander aimlessly and can be found muttering to themselves. While not allies, they are generally neutral and can be ignored.
- Wally Franks (Audio Logs): Though never seen alive in the game, Wally Franks' audio logs provide comic relief and crucial insights into the studio's early days and the Ink Machine's development. He's a voice of reason amidst the madness.
These characters, even the neutral ones, add depth to the narrative and highlight the varying degrees of corruption within the studio. Boris, in particular, represents a glimmer of hope and innocence in a world consumed by darkness.
