ADAM is the lifeblood of your progression in BioShock 2. You acquire ADAM primarily by rescuing or harvesting Little Sisters after defeating their Big Daddies. Rescuing a Little Sister grants you a smaller immediate ADAM reward but a larger bonus after every three rescues. Harvesting provides more immediate ADAM but no bonus. ADAM is spent at Gatherer's Gardens to purchase new Plasmids, Plasmid upgrades, Tonics, and Tonic slots. Plasmids grant active abilities like Electro Bolt or Incinerate, while Tonics provide passive bonuses such as increased damage or hacking efficiency. Carefully consider your purchases to tailor Subject Delta to your preferred playstyle. upgrade your drill and weapons at Power to the People stations.
