Welcome back to the world, Subject Delta. You'll awaken in a Vita-Chamber, a familiar sight for any veteran of Rapture. This initial section focuses on getting you oriented and equipped for the challenges ahead in the Adonis Luxury Resort.

Initial Orientation and Looting

  1. Examine the Vita-Chamber: After the brief cutscene, you'll find yourself standing within the Vita-Chamber. Take a moment to adjust to your surroundings.
  2. Collect the Drill: Your primary weapon, the Drill, will be automatically equipped. Familiarize yourself with its melee attack and fuel consumption for its drill dash ability.
  3. Gather Supplies:
    • First Aid Kit: Look immediately to your left upon exiting the Vita-Chamber. A First Aid Kit is usually found on a small table or shelf nearby.
    • EVE Hypo: Similarly, an EVE Hypo can often be found in the same vicinity as the First Aid Kit, crucial for replenishing your Plasmids.
    • Drill Fuel: Keep an eye out for small canisters of Drill Fuel scattered around. These are vital for maintaining your Drill's special abilities.
  4. Explore the Immediate Area: Before moving too far, thoroughly check the small room you've revived in. There are often various containers, such as trash cans, desks, and wall safes, that can yield useful items like:
    • Cash: Essential for purchasing supplies from Vending Machines.
    • Ammunition: For any weapons you acquire later.
    • Snacks/Drinks: Minor health and EVE regeneration.

First Encounters and Environmental Hazards

As you step out of the Vita-Chamber room, you'll enter a corridor within the Adonis Luxury Resort. Be prepared for your first encounters with Rapture's denizens.

  1. Splicer Encounter: You'll likely encounter a lone Leadhead Splicer or two shortly after leaving the Vita-Chamber area.
    • Strategy: Utilize your Drill's powerful melee attack. A few well-placed swings should dispatch them quickly. Remember to block if they get too close.
    • Loot: Always loot fallen Splicers for cash, ammo, and sometimes even EVE Hypos or First Aid Kits.
  2. Water Hazards: Be mindful of flooded areas and exposed electrical wires.
    • Strategy: Avoid wading through electrified water. Look for alternative paths or use your Drill to destroy the source of the electricity if possible (e.g., a sparking junction box).
    • Consequence: Contact with electrified water will cause significant damage and temporarily stun you.
  3. Vending Machine: You should soon come across your first Gatherer's Garden or Circus of Values vending machine.
    • Action: Interact with it to view available items. At this early stage, prioritize purchasing EVE Hypos and First Aid Kits if you're low, and any available Drill Fuel.
    • Tip: Always check vending machines for discounted items or special offers.
