Guangzhi, also known as the Wandering Wight, is an optional mini-boss in the Forest of Wolves. You should defeat this boss before ringing the three large bells that unlock the Chapter 1 Secret Area. Failing to do so will cause the Wandering Wight to disappear once you face the boss of the Ancient Guanyin Temple, making you lose the chance to challenge him and earn his rewards.

Guangzhi (Wandering Wight) Strategy

After defeating a Wolf Soldier on the main path, you'll enter a more open area. To find Guangzhi, take the path to the left, past the first two Wolves near the Shrine. Beyond several fallen trees, you'll find some Purple Lingzhi and Aged Ginseng. Continue on to reach a small peak with broken pillars, where a Wolf guards some pots containing Will. Near this peak is a bridge guarded by a Bandit Chief.

The Bandit Chief, who serves as the Wandering Wight, wields a large sword and can execute surprisingly agile lunging attacks. His multi-hit sword swings can inflict significant damage. His combos typically conclude with a powerful downward slam, which provides a wide opening for you to counterattack as he struggles to lift his blade from the ground. This enemy does not respawn once defeated. After taking him down, you can open the chest he was guarding to obtain some items.
