Exploration & Item Gathering — Black Myth: Wukong Guide
Exploration in Black Myth: Wukong, while largely linear, offers crucial opportunities to discover unique items and optional challenges off the main path. After defeating initial enemies, you can find a Purple Lingzhi mushroom guarded by a Wolf Stalwart. Further exploration leads to a Gentian plant and the significant Skandha of Form Key Item, acquired by interacting with a stone head.
After defeating the two enemies, cross the bridge and continue along the main path to face another Wolf Soldier. Defeat this enemy and keep moving forward. You'll soon enter a more open area of this region. Although the game is largely linear, some sections allow for exploration off the main route, which can be crucial for discovering unique items and optional boss fights. On the left side, you'll find another Wolf Stalwart guarding a Purple Lingzhi mushroom at the base of a large tree.
You'll come across a path that descends and splits into two. The left path leads to a stream that circles back to the bridge you crossed earlier, while the right path leads to a mini-boss. Start by taking the left path. Soon, you'll face another Wolf Swordsworn enemy behind a rock sculpture, and nearby, you'll find a Gentian plant. Further down the stream, a small Rat Guai will be near a stone statue, but it will quickly scurry away. Interact with the stone head to acquire the Skandha of Form Key Item.
After defeating a boss, a cutscene will trigger where he laments about 270 years ago and missing one Kasaya. His soul will vanish, and you will be transported back to Guanyin Temple. Interact with the hanged body to receive the Fireproof Mantle. This concludes the exploration of the Ancient Guanyin Temple.
