Initial Encounter & Combat Tutorial — Black Myth: Wukong Guide

The game's prologue immediately thrusts you into a boss fight against Erlang, the Sacred Divinity, serving as a combat tutorial without a health bar. This encounter allows you to practice dodging, as the game lacks a dedicated block button, emphasizing timed dodges for survival. Erlang's straightforward spear techniques, including sweeping and thrusting attacks, provide ample opportunity to grasp the combat controls and mechanics.

After the initial cutscene, you will immediately face your first boss fight against Erlang, the Sacred Divinity. This fight serves as a tutorial, indicated by the absence of a health bar. Erlang uses straightforward spear techniques with sweeping and thrusting attacks. His attacks often slow down, allowing you to practice dodging. The game lacks a dedicated block button, so timing your dodges, especially last-second dodges, is crucial for survival.

As Erlang's health depletes by about a quarter, he will leap and ambush you from above. His speed increases as the fight continues, and he will start blocking your attacks. This is the time to incorporate heavy attacks into your combos. When Erlang's health drops below half, a brief cutscene triggers the final phase. He will begin using divine power to unleash projectiles, which you must either dodge or deflect by holding L2.

After defeating the enemies in this area, cross the wooden platform past the Bullguard's initial location to find a Wolf Sentinel and a Wolf Archer. Loot the golden pot on an altar to find a Celestial Nonary Pill. Once looted, you will encounter several Wolf Guai and a Wolf Archer at the base of the steps. Defeat them, then climb the steps to find another Wolf Archer. Defeat this enemy, then follow the trail to find the Bodhi Peak shrine. Offer incense and rest here.
