Lingxuzi is a massive wolf boss with devastating but well-telegraphed attacks. His evasiveness can make timing counterattacks challenging. He typically starts with a big leaping strike, landing with a double claw slash. After the first slash, there's a brief one-second window to land a melee strike before the second. He frequently leaps away after attacks, so be ready to close the distance.
Key Attacks and Strategies:
- Double Claw Slash: Leaping strike followed by two quick slashes. Dodge the first, counter, then dodge the second.
- Howl: Lingxuzi pauses and curls up to charge a stun. Move away immediately to avoid being stunned.
- Stationary Slashes: Used in response to sustained melee attacks, from either left or right.
- Low Bite: Used while stalking you slowly.
- Uppercut Slash & Ground Punch: His most damaging move. Occurs at mid-range. He steps back, pauses, and positions sideways. Quickly back away to create distance. If hit, you'll be airborne, then slammed down. This provides a larger window for counterattack after he recovers.
Time your attacks precisely and watch his movements. The Immobilize spell is highly effective here; use it to lock him in place for heavy attacks, building your Focus bar for more damaging combos. After defeating Lingxuzi, you'll acquire the Grey Wolf Mask and a Mind Core. Explore the area for mushrooms, Jade Lotus, and a chest in the far right corner before exiting the Forest of Wolves.
