If you face the boss of the Ancient Guanyin Temple before defeating the Wandering Wight, it will disappear, and you will miss out on its rewards, including the Cat Eye Beads.

Pre-Exploration Note (Wandering Wight)

NOTE: You should defeat this optional boss before unlocking the Chapter 1 Secret Area by ringing the three large bells. Once you face the boss of the Ancient Guanyin Temple, the Wandering Wight will disappear, and you'll lose the chance to challenge him and earn his rewards.

The main path through this area is direct. Follow the route past the first two Wolf guards near the Shrine, leading to an axe-wielding Wolf Stalwart by a small bridge. Continue straight through a tunnel, which is guarded by the optional mini-boss, the Wandering Wight.

Mini-boss fight: Wandering Wight (Optional)

The Wandering Wight is more challenging than most enemies in this chapter. It is encouraged to run past him on your first encounter and return later when stronger. Defeating the Wandering Wight rewards you with Cat Eye Beads.
